Wrestle Kingdom 13 Card Announced

New Japan Pro-Wrestling released the full card for January’s upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 13 event. One omission would appear to be the ‘New Japan Rumble’, which has opened each event since Wrestle Kingdom 9. The event takes place at the Tokyo Dome on the 4th of January. Pre-Show: A gauntlet match to determine #1 contenders for NEVER six-man titles

Tomohiro Ishii Vs. Zack Sabre Jr. for the British Heavyweight title

Kenny Omega Vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP title

NJPW Returning to the US in 2019

They have announced their newest gambit, seeing them returning to the United States and putting on two shows inside a week. The event has been named ‘The New Beginning USA Tour’. Referred to as the ‘third pillar’, their expansion into the US runs in conjunction with big match production and new talent development. The event starts on January 30th in Los Angeles, CA at the Globe Theatre and then moves to Charlotte, NC at the Grady Cole Center on February 1st. Setting their sights firmly on gaining a greater share of the North American market, NJPW posted on their website:

“With big matches, new talent development and US tour as the three pillars, we hope to have US wrestling fans experience the New Japan Pro-Wrestling fighting spirit. Our goal is to increase US fans of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, in conjunction with streaming Japanese matches on NJPW World with English commentary, and creating new content that dives deeper into the history and allure of New Japan on our official YouTube channel.”


Big Cass Update

Tommy Dreamer updated the wrestling world of the current condition of former WWE superstar, Big Cass. Tweeting simply that he’d spoken to Cass and he was doing well. This is of course after the big man collapsed at Dreamer’s House of Hardcore event this past weekend.


Ric Flair Returning to the Ring?

Greatest WrestleMania Matches

Ric Flair has reportedly claimed to be cleared to take bumps in the ring by WWE medical. News website Uproxx has reported that during a podcast with Steve Austin Ric said the following:

“The guys have cleared me to do anything. I’ve actually been cleared to get knocked down in the ring. I didn’t know if they were going to use me in some capacity and you know the clearances you have to have with the health policy, which is so adamant.”


TLC Match Announced

205 Live General Manager, Drake Maverick recorded a video for WWE social media today announcing the date the Cruiserweight title would be defended. As many have suspected, the title will be on the line this Sunday, as Buddy Murphy takes on former champion Cedric Alexander at TLC.


Cody Rhodes Declined Recent WWE Offer

While on tour in the UK Cody Rhodes made an appearance on Bruce Pritchards ‘Something to Wrestle With’ podcast. Responding to a fan question, Rhodes let slip that he’d turned down the WWE only “a few weeks ago”. He went on to speak about the appetite for non-pg wrestling and the impact of ALL IN.
