ROH ANNOUNCE TELEVISION TITLE MATCH FOR BEST IN THE WORLD

ROH announced today that current champion, Shane Taylor, will be defending his belt at the upcoming Best in the World pay per view. Taylor will be defending against ROH newcomer, Bandido. Taylor won the title at the beginning of the month, beating Brody King and Hirooki Goto in a four corner survival match. ROH had the following to say on their website:

In addition to his victory over Taylor, Bandido has defeated other established stars such as Silas Young, Rocky Romero, PJ Black, and fellow LifeBlood member Mark Haskins.

While Bandido’s arrival in ROH created a huge buzz and he immediately became one of the promotion’s most popular stars, Taylor has long been vocal about being overlooked by ROH officials and fans.

Taylor’s rise has been more gradual, but no one ever doubted how dangerous of a competitor the big man from the mean streets of East Cleveland is. Possessing a devastating right hand, a nasty attitude and a huge chip on his shoulder, Taylor has vowed to force everyone in ROH to call him “the baddest champion you’ve ever seen, boy!”

Best in the World is due to take place on the 28th of June and will be hosted at the UMBC Event Center in Baltimore.

SMACKDOWN LIVE EVENT NOT HAPPENING

For the third time in four weeks, SmackDown’s live event on a Monday won’t be happening. Next week’s event was supposed to be held at Tony’s Pizza Event Center in Salina Kansas. Tony’s Pizza Event Center has apologised to fans for the inconvenience.

Joseph Currier has written on f4wonline.com that the reason stems from the newly introduced wildcard rule. Key wrestlers would be missing from the event and WWE are obviously unhappy with this situation.

WWE has said that the show will be rescheduled for the 26th of October, with all tickets purchased for this Monday’s show being valid. If fans cannot attend the rescheduled show they should go to their point of purchase to be refunded.
