TERRI RUNNELS SPEAKS OUT FOLLOWING ARREST

Yesterday news broke that former WWE superstar Terri Runnels had been arrested. Even more troubling was the fact that the arrest had been for possession of a concealed weapon.

Runnels normally keeps well out of the headlines, this act was very out of character for the performer.

In a video posted to Twitter, Terri explains how she forgot the gun was with her. She claimed to have had very little sleep and had to have woken early to catch a flight to Allentown. She had the gun with her as she was visiting her mother’s house and frequently used it to dispatch critters.

And I literally… when I go to see my mom, I pack my gun because she has armadillos that ruin her garden and other critters that go after her chickens. I usually take my gun when I go to see her. I was with her for about a week and a half and helping her out. I got home and was literally, I think I got eight hours sleep in three days. And then I got up this morning, Wednesday the 29th, I think it was 4 am when I got up to make this early flight to go to Allentown for the show, for the benefit, for Sam. And literally it did not even cross my mind that my gun was in my Vera Bradley tote that I always take on the plane with me. It was the most… God, I’ve never in trouble in my life and it scared the hell out of me. It was a simple mistake, dear God, it was just horrible.

ROH ANNOUNCE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH FOR ‘BEST IN THE WORLD’

ROH has announced that on June 28th, at ‘Best in the World’, ROH World Champion, Matt Taven, will face Jeff Cobb with the title on the line.

Cobb recently lost the ROH World Television Championship in a four corners match. It should be noted that he lost the title without taking the pin. ROH commented on their website:

Cobb said he wants ROH World Champion Matt Taven in a title match. Taven accepted the challenge, and the ROH Board of Directors have now made it official:

Taven will defend the title against Cobb at the Best in the World pay-per-view (streaming live for HonorClub) on June 28 at Baltimore’s UMBC Event Center. As with all of Taven’s title defenses going forward, his fellow Kingdom members TK O’Ryan and Vinny Marseglia are banned from ringside.

CORMIER SPECULATES ON WHY LESNAR REMAINED WITH THE WWE

UFC Heavyweight Champion, Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier has spoken out regarding why he thinks Brock remained with the WWE. The pair were due to meet this summer in what was assumed to be a very lucrative MMA bout. DC is now preparing for a rematch with former champion, and the man he won the belt from, Stipe Miocic. Speaking with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, Cormier said the following when asked about Brocks return to wrestling:

I’m sure Brock couldn’t come to terms with the UFC in terms of financial offer. There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world of mixed martial arts right now in terms of pay-per-view. It’s not as straightforward as when Brock was there. I think when Brock looked at the landscape of the sport, what they were offering him, Brock said, ‘I can make guaranteed money [in WWE.]’ Not work as hard. He’d have to work his ass off [to fight me] and it’s probably gonna go the bad way. Whereas with the WWE, it’s usually determined in his favour. So, as a businessman, I think Brock made the right decision.
