JEFF HARDY HAS KNEE SURGERY

After the Hardy Boyz relinquished the SmackDown tag titles earlier this week, Jeff posted a video to his Instagram account. The video was seeminly posted from a hospital bed and saw Jeff pretending to wake up and simply say “let the healing begin”. In the caption to the video Jeff thanked WWE and Andrews Sports Medicine and placed yesterdays date next to knee surgery. 

The WWE website has claimed that the operation was to repair ‘multiple lingering issues’. The star is expected to be out for 6-9 months. The website said:

Jeff Hardy underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair multiple lingering issues in his right knee, all of which were exacerbated in an attack by the monstrous Lars Sullivan on SmackDown LIVE. As a result of Jeff’s injuries, The Hardy Boyz were forced to relinquish the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.

NWA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH ANNOUNCED

After winning the NWA National title at last weekend’s Crockett Cupp, Colt Cabana has his first defense already booked. Shortly after winning the title, James Strom made his way to the ring, after complimenting Cabana on his victory, Storm made it clear that he had his sights set on becoming champion.

Earlier today the NWA Twitter feed announced that Cabana will be defending his title against James Storm at May 12th’s Global Wars in Chicago. 

CODY RHODES TO MAKE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT THIS WEEKEND

All Elite Wrestling Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes will make his final indie wrestling appearance this weekend and has revealed he will be making a “fun announcement.

Cody will be appearing at the Southern Honor Wrestling show in Canton, Georgia.

Cody is set to return to the ring at AEW Double Or Nothing on Saturday, May 25 in Las Vegas. He will face his brother, Dustin Rhodes.

 

CIMA ANNOUNCES TAG PARTNERS AT DOUBLE OR NOTHING

CIMA has announced his tag partners for his six man tag team match at Double or Nothing against SCU. CIMA, T-Hawk & El Lindaman will be facingChristopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 25.

AEW’s partnership with OWE was first announced in January.

 

WILLIE MACK RE-SIGNS WITH IMPACT WRESTLING

On Wrestlinginc.com this week, Willie Mack announced he has signed a multi-year contract with Impact Wrestling.

Speaking about his deal, Mack said:

“Well, the contract was good and everything seemed alright.. Impact Wrestling – I’ve been watching it since way back in the day when they used to have the weekly PPVs for like 12 bucks. The reason I wanted to go there was because of the X-Division and the six-sided ring but they don’t have that no more. They have the best talent in the world, so why wouldn’t I want to be here?”

 

BRIAN CAGE PULLED FROM IMPACT TAPINGS

Wrestling Inc also revealed that new Impact Wrestling World Champion Brian Cage has been pulled from this weekend’s Impact TV tapings due to injury. He sustained this injury at Impact’s Rebellion pay-per-view last Sunday. Cage was also not at last Monday’s tapings in Toronto.

This weekend’s tapings will be taking place tonight and Saturday from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.

Cage may miss tapings beyond this weekend. There is currently no word about the status of the Impact Wrestling championship.
