WWE has introduced a rule to cover for wrestlers making cross-brand appearances.

Vince McMahon started off tonight’s Raw, only for SmackDown’s Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, and WWE Champion Kofi Kingstonto interrupt him. Vince said he had an epiphany and mentioned a Wild Card rule where three wrestlers from Raw and three wrestlers from SmackDown would be allowed to appear on the opposite brand “on a given occasion.”

Raw posted record-low ratings for a non-holiday episode last week, while last week’s SmackDown did the show’s lowest ratings since the 2016 brand split.

MLW SIGN ROSS AND MARSHALL VON ERICH

MLW has announced the signing of both Ross and Marshall Von Erich.

The Von Erich name is one etched in wrestling history. Unfortunately, the name is also associated with a tragic past with many of the family passing away well before their time. The patriarch of the family, Fritz Von Erich, had six sons, only one still remains alive, Kevin Von Erich. Kevin has continued the family legacy, his daughter Lacey competed for TNA and WWE before retiring in 2010. His sons, Ross and Marshall both made their pro wrestling debut in 2012 for Pro Wrestling Noah. They were trained by father Kevin, Harley Race and were part of the NOAH Dojo. The pair made their television debut for Impact and Slammiversary XII.

HUGE MATCHES ADDED TO NJPW’S DOMINION

Three huge matches have been added to NJPW’s Dominion pay per view, scheduled to take place on the 9th of June. In the first, Ishii is set to face Taichi for the Never Openweight title. Taichi only recently won the title himself, defeating Jeff Cobb at Wrestling Dontaku this past Friday.

Chris Jericho is also set to take on Okada for his IWGP Heavyweight Championship. This has been confirmed as the main event.

From the New Japan website:

Kazuchika Okada will defend the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Chris Jericho. After a 37 minute war with SANADA on May 4, a triumphant Okada was proudly addressing his public when he was cut off by an unnerving video. That video was a message from Chris Jericho, who dubbed himself the ‘pain maker’ and that he would challenge Okada and win.

The third title match announced for Dominion is Naito vs. Ibushi for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. The pair have already met twice this year, both matches have gone Ibushi’s way. Speaking of the matching, NJPW has said:

Both matches have shown a level of athleticism and danger that Naito has likened to ‘playing with fire’. Now both men have a new drive and determination heading into Osaka.
