McKenzie Mitchell to WWE, Kurt Angles New Role & New 205 Live Commentator | Wrestling News Update, September 11th 2019

MCKENZIE MITCHELL JOINS WWE

McKenzie Mitchell announced on her social media accounts that she has recently joined the WWE.

Mitchell formally worked for Impact Wrestling as a back-stage interviewer before leaving in January this year. When leaving Impact Mitchell released the following:

Grateful. Changed. IMPACTed. Undoubtedly the most exhilarating and exciting experience of my life thus far. Words can’t describe my appreciation for @impactwrestling and company and all that I’ve learned with this experience. To my friends, family, and fans- you guys rock and are the reason why I love doing what I do each and every day. 2019 is a year of change and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

KURT ANGLE REPORTEDLY FINDS NEW ROLE IN WWE

PWInsider has reported that Kurt Angle has taken a position as a producer for WWE.

Apparently, Kurt is working under the RAW banner full time and was the reason that he was backstage during Monday night’s show at MSG.

Angle spoke at the end of April about transitioning into this new role. He mentioned that he had signed a five year deal with the company that could include some on-camera work, managing wrestlers, and production.

“I signed a five-year deal with WWE. I’m going to do some part-time, if they need me in front of the TV, maybe managerial, where I would be managing some wrestlers, but the most important thing is I’m going to be a producer. I’m going to help the wrestlers with their technique. I’m going to help them structure their matches. It’s something I’m very good at. I thought I’d be able to contributor the company.”

205 LIVE COMMENTARY TEAM CHANGES

Earlier this week, WWE announced that 205 Live would see Nigel McGuinness depart.

Nigel joined the 205 Live commentary desk in September 2017, pulling double duty as he was already established as part of the NXT commentary team. With NXT moving to a live format, WWE has decided that McGuinness will step down from his role at the 205 Live desk.

This week on 205 Live Dio Maddin took his place, with the commentary team now consisting of Vic Joseph, Dio Maddin and Aiden English.

MLW ANNOUNCE THEIR RETURN TO FLORIDA AND TELEVISION TAPING

MLW announced today that they will be holding an event called ‘Blood & Thunder’ at GILT nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The event is set to be held on Saturday the 9th of November and will also be used for a television taping. GILT nightclub was the home for MLW after their 2017 relaunch.

November 9th is the same date as AEW Full Gear pay per view, however, the MLW show starting at 4 pm.

SAMI CALLIHAN TO MAKE ICW DEBUT

Earlier today ICW announced that Sami Callihan would be making his debut for the company at their upcoming Fear and Loathing event.

So far his potential opponent hasn’t been mentioned, but we don know that he’ll be appearing on night one, on the 2nd of November at SWG3, Glasgow.

RIPTIDE ANNOUNCE BRIGHTON SPIRIT TAG TOURNAMENT, RASCALZ AND BESTIES CONFIRMED

Riptide Wrestling have announced that on their October weekender, they will be holding a ‘Brighton Spirit’ tag team tournament, across the two days.

They have also announced two massive international tag teams for the shows in the form of former Fight Club Pro Tag Team Champions The Besties in The World and Impact Wrestling’s The Rascalz.
