Following the NXT invasion on SmackDown, can the NXT stars of 205 Live continue the impressive showing?
We get a recap of last weeks 205 Live.
We open with Isaiah “Swerve” Scott heading down to the ring, until he was attacked by Ayira Daivari. Referees check on Scott, who insists he can wrestle, so Charles Robinson gives him the all-clear.
Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defeated Ariya Daivari via pinfall
Isaiah is a future star, I imagine he’ll rule over 205 Live in the future much like Neville, Murphy and Gulak did before him. Daivari is a solid if unremarkable heel and his attack means these two will feud going forward. In a solid opener, Scott picked up yet another win, seeing off Ariya with his ‘Killshot’ kick.
Jack Gallagher defeated Ray Razikoff via pinfall
This was a squash match for Gallagher, a showcase for a man who should be doing far more. He should be on Raw, SmackDown or NXT; it has everything those brands like in a superstar. Gallagher put an end to the beating with a corner dropkick.
NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush defeated Raul Mendoza via pinfall
A really fun match from both men, and a real showcase for one Raul Mendoza. Making Rush the figurehead of the division makes perfect sense and he is the best cruiserweight they have in my opinion. Both men’s stock raised in this competitive encounter, with Rush following the ‘Final Hour’ frog splash.
Both men fist-bumped post-match.
