WWE Bans Buckle Bomb | Wrestling News Update, May 30 2020

With news on a move banned and another release in WWE, Matty Deller brings you the Wrestling News Update.

WWE BANS BUCKLE BOMB

As confirmed by PWInsider and Bryan Alvarez, WWE has banned the use of the buckle bomb.

Is is unclear why the move has been banned, but many have pointed to the  April 20th Raw match between Nia Jax and Kairi Sane, where Sane’s head hit the middle turnbuckle awkwardly.

In addition, the most well known incident with the move was at 2015’s WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view as then-WWE Champion Seth Rollins delivered the buckle bomb to Sting, who had spinal stenosis, injuring his neck.

CHRIS DEJOSEPH RELEASED BY WWE

 F4Wonline.com have revealed that weteran pro wrestling writer Chris DeJoseph has been released from WWE.

DeJoseph had been working as one of the lead writers for SmackDown, but there’s no word on why he was released as of yet. DeJoseph had just returned to work for WWE back in December and previously worked WWE creative from 2004-2010 as well as stints with MLW and Lucha Underground.

VINCE MCMAHON BIOGRAPHY IN THE WORKS

Abraham Riesman, the author of Stan Lee’s autobiography ‘True Believer: The Rise and Fall of Stan Lee‘ has announced that he is writing another autiobiographical tale of one Vince McMahon.

On his instagram, Riesman said;

“I come bearing good news: I’m writing another book! This one’s a biography of Vince McMahon, the emperor of professional wrestling. It’s for @simonandschuster’s @atriabooks imprint. Release date TBD, but I’d guess 2022. Many thanks to my amazing agent, @rossharris1, and my tremendous editor, @amardeol. Wish me luck!”

the photo shows a preview of the book, which reads;

Ringmaster, a biography of Vince McMahon, who went from a dyslexic boy growing up in a trailer park to the iconoclastic Chairman and CEO of the multi-billion dollar WWE empire, with new reporting and exclusive interviews from those witnessed, aided, and suffered from his ascent.”

TESSA BLANCHARD NOT AT LATEST IMPACT TAPINGS AGAIN

According to PWInsider. Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard did not work this week’s Impact TV tapings in Nashville, Tennessee at Skyline Studios.

She was not a part of the last set of tapings, remaining in Mexico due to concerns over COVID-19. There is no word yet on when Tessa will be back in action. It’s believed that the company taped several weeks worth of Impact content this week.

Trey Miguel will take on Ace Austin this week to determine a new number one contender for Tessa’s IMPACT World Title.

BRIAN CAGE IN ACTION THIS WEDNESDAY

Number one contender to Jon Moxley’s AEW World Title Brian Cage will be in action on this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

His opponent wasn’t revealed, likely meaning that it will be a squash match. This will be the third match Cage has had for AEW, after making his debut for the promotion as the mystery entrant in the Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing.
