WWE: Fantasy Booking | SummerSlam 2020

Despite the world still fighting a pandemic, Vince McMahon is ploughing full steam ahead with his WWE schedule.

The next major event will be SummerSlam, which is set to take place in August, but is most likely to be postponed until September due to the lockdown rules in various states.

Here at TWM, we are going to fantasy book this event as the night that changes the face of professional wrestling forever.

A dangerous group of degenerates have invaded Raw and SmackDown to take their spot instead of waiting in line. Roman Reigns has recruited an all-star line-up to battle the NXT superstars, but will the team of Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton and WWE Hall of Famer Edge be able to put their egos aside?

Can Team WWE rally together to topple NXT once and for all, or will the DX-led faction take over Mr. McMahon’s company on a historic night in sports entertainment?

Plus, Drew McIntyre must put his WWE Championship on the line against “The Beast” Brock Lesnar in a WrestleMania rematch.

A furious Fiend looks to destroy AJ Styles for eliminating the Firefly Funhouse. Can The Phenomenal One withstand the most dominant force in all of WWE and retain the Universal Championship, or will The Fiend massacre yet another victim?

The superstars of Raw, Smackdown and NXT present SummerSlam 2020 where one entity will take control and change the course of WWE forever….

Intercontinental Championship MatchBig E vs. Kofi Kingston

SummerSlam opens with former best friends, Big E and Kofi Kingston, doing battle over the Intercontinental Championship following The New Day’s tumultuous split over the summer months.

At the biggest party of the summer, it’s the reigning champion Big E who prevails, completely dominating Kingston at every turn before finally putting him away with a hat trick of Big Endings.

No one saw the split coming, especially Kingston. After The New Day lost the SmackDown Tag Team Championship to The Miz & John Morrison, Big E snapped and took his frustrations out on his partner before claiming the cheerful faction had held him back for years. Now it was his time to shine, and shine he does by capturing the Intercontinental Championship from Jeff Hardy.

After the destructive victory, Big E immediately leaves the ring when the NXT roster, led by DX, marches down and completely decimates Kingston, sending a clear message to the entire WWE locker room ahead of the all-or-nothing main event.

Backstage, the leader of Team WWE, Roman Reigns, enters Seth Rollins’ locker room trying to motivate his former Shield brother. Roman tells Seth that he doesn’t want some “Monday Night Messiah” turning up tonight, he wants the old Rollins who will do whatever it takes to get the win. Roman says that tonight, more than ever, WWE needs the old Seth Rollins. A solemn Rollins simply nods and goes back to changing into his wrestling gear.

SmackDown Women’s Championship MatchBayley vs. Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks proves to the WWE Universe just who The Boss of the Women’s division truly is as she defeats Bayley to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.

The two had become so close in recent months, but tension started to mount between the pair when Banks started to gain an interest in the Women’s Championship. Fearing her title reign was in jeopardy, Bayley assaulted Banks, taking her out of action for six weeks with a knee injury.

In her hometown of Boston, Banks was back and looking to reclaim her spot as the best this business has to offer. The two deliver a contest reminiscent of their classics in NXT, tearing the house down with high-impact moves, counters and near-falls.

In the closing moments of the bout, Banks manages to lock Bayley in The Bank Statement and finally forces the submission to once again reign supreme in the SmackDown kingdom.

After the contest, Raw Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler storms down to the ring and gets in Banks’ face, declaring that it’s time to unify the titles and have one champion that WWE can be proud of.

King Corbin, Sheamus, & Cesaro vs. Jeff Hardy & Heavy Machinery

In an impromptu six-man tag team match, King Corbin & the newly-reunited Bar takes on Jeff Hardy & Heavy Machinery. Despite the odds being even, Corbin, Sheamus, & Cesaro manage to use the numbers more effectively to isolate a different member of their opposition on several occasions.

Hardy proves he has one of the biggest hearts in all WWE by persevering and pushing through the pain to overcome and topple Corbin with a picture-perfect Swanton Bomb.

With The Bar and Heavy Machinery delivering tremendous performances, it seems likely that The Miz & John Morrison will not be short of challengers anytime soon. As for Hardy, perhaps a run at the prestigious Intercontinental Championship is in the cards.

Backstage, Bray Wyatt is having a conversation with himself in the mirror. But the person staring back was not Wyatt at all, but The Fiend who tells Bray it’s time to massacre AJ Styles once and for all.

The Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment, Mr. McMahon, comes down to the ring and thanks the WWE Universe from the bottom of his heart for everything they have given him and his family over the years. He says that if tonight is indeed the end, then it has been one hell of a ride and he will miss each and every one of them.

WWE Championship MatchDrew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar

The Beast Incarnate has been seething and raging like a caged animal ever since losing the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. But now the time has come for his rematch and he is hell-bent on making the most of it and taking The Scottish Psychopath straight to Suplex City.

Since the biggest win of his career on the Grandest Stage Of Them All, McIntyre has gone from strength to strength, knocking off such challengers as Seth Rollins, Jinder Mahal, and Randy Orton. But his biggest test comes at SummerSlam in form of the unstoppable force known as Brock Lesnar.

These two gladiators beat the holy hell out of one another in Boston, smashing everything in their path along the way as Paul Heyman looks on with an interested eye at ringside. McIntyre does, in fact, take a painful trip to Suplex City, but he does not stay down. The WWE Champion refuses to quit, and comes back at Lesnar with a relentless barrage of attacks. He caps it off with a devastating Claymore, slaying the beast one more time and solidifying himself as the top dog in WWE.

Universal Championship Match – AJ Styles vs. ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt

Before a sold-out crowd in Boston at SummerSlam, The Fiend triumphs over the ever-resilient AJ Styles to become the new Universal Champion. However, as The Fiend celebrates his victory, The Undertaker returns to lay down a deadly challenge for a Boneyard Match at Survivor Series.

Styles is over-matched throughout, but that has been the case for most of his career. He was over-matched when competing against Braun Strowman, but he managed to dethrone The Monster Among Men for the Universal Championship.

Facing The Fiend is a different matter altogether, however, and no matter what Styles attempted to do, The Fiend thwarted him, finally putting the champ out of his misery with the Mandible claw. That’s when The Undertaker made his presence felt, making his spine-tingling entrance to lay down a challenge to Wyatt to face him at Survivor Series in a Boneyard Match.

Backstage, Triple H and Shawn Michaels are seen doing their best to motivate the NXT roster, saying that it’s all on the line tonight and failure is not an option. “Tonight, the WWE as the world knows it dies, and the future will rise.”, a determined King Of Kings says to fire up his troops.

Team WWE (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Edge, & Randy Orton) vs. Team NXT (Adam Cole, Tomasso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Finn Balor, & Keith Lee)

If Team WWE Wins, NXT Is Finished. If Team NXT Wins, Mr. McMahon Will Hand Over All Power To Triple H

The time has come for the most important main event in SummerSlam history, as the entire future of WWE rests on the outcome of one result.

DX leads Adam Cole, Tomasso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Finn Balor, and Keith Lee to the ring to do battle with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton & Edge, who are brought to the ring by Mr. McMahon.

The fans in Boston are at a fever pitch as the ten superstars do battle for ultimate control. The first man eliminated is surprisingly Lee after Orton hits a devastating RKO to put Team WWE up one. However, that advantage doesn’t last long, as The Viper soon heads to the back himself thanks to Gargano.

Balor is next to be eliminated by Bryan after hits the Running Knee. Rollins nails the Curb Stomp on Cole and drags Reigns on top of him for the pinfall, seemingly putting NXT at a disadvantage.

Bryan is eliminated by Ciampa with a roll-up. Unfortunately for NXT, they eat another elimination when Gargano is pinned by Reigns after a massive spear. Rollins is next gone for WWE after Ciampa forces him to tap out. Angry at being eliminated, Gargano goes back into the ring and attacks Ciampa, leaving him laying as DX chases the turncoat away.

Ciampa somehow manages to kick out and even eliminate Edge with a small package to bring it to a one-on-one contest against Reigns, with all the marbles up for grabs. The two trade moves and counters with the Boston crowd cheering for the pair. Despite a solid effort by Ciampa, he looks out of it when Reigns nails him with a spear. However, the referee is stopped from making the three-count by Rollins, who Curb Stomps a stunned Reigns into the canvas and drags Ciampa over him for the victory.

Team NXT has done it and ends Vince McMahon’s time in charge of WWE. Rollins is the masterplan Triple H had been talking about in recent weeks, and now The Game is in full control of the company. What will the future of WWE and sports-entertainment look like with him at the helm? And why did Rollins turn his back on the company that made him?
