WWE Fastlane 2018 Results: Two huge matches made for WrestleMania

WWE held their final stop before WrestleMania, and Fastlane was full of suprises, shocks and the picture for ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’ is a little clearer.

AJ Styles held on to his WWE Championship in a wild six-pack challenge, beating Kevin Owens, John Cena, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin when AJ Styles fought through an Attitude Adjustment through the announce table to hit Owens with the Phenomenal Forearm to scrape the win. The biggest controversy however was to do with SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon, who stopped both Owens and Zayn winning the belt themselves.

This now also means that AJ Styles will now face Shinsuke Nakamura, who bested Rusev in a fantastic opener to the main show, at WrestleMania with the WWE Title on the line.

We also now know the WWE SmackDown Live Women’s Title Match at WrestleMania. This is so as not only did Charlotte Flair made Ruby Riott tap out to the Figure Eight, but then shockingly the Women’s Royal Rumble winner Asuka appeared and made her intentions clear that she is moving to the blue brand to face The Queen for the belt in New Orleans.

The other big news is a brand new WWE United States Champion, as Randy Orton captured the only title that has alluded him in his illustrious career, pinning Bobby Roode with an RKO.

The Bludgeon Brothers laid waste to both The Usos and The New Day, as their excellent match for the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles ended in a no c0ntest. Harper and Rowan destroyed both teams, punctuated by Xavier Woods getting taken out on a stretcher after a powerbomb on the steel steps.

Finally, Carmella and Natalya beat Becky Lynch and Naomi in a tag team match when Carmella dropped Lynch with a big boot for the win and on the pre-show, Tye Dillinger and Breezango beat Shelton Benjamin, Chad Gable and Mojo Rawley as The Perfect Ten pinned Rawley with a double shot of knees to the face.
