We’ve made it to the last WWE show before Money In The Bank! Tonight we will see King Corbin team up with Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamara to face Daniel Bryan, Drew Gulak, and their mystery partner.
We open the show with Otis checking in on Mandy Rose preparing for her match. Then we see Dolph Ziggler checking in on Sonya Deville’s preparations for the match.
Commentary welcomes us to the Performance Center and then Mandy Rose makes her entrance.
Sonya Deville defeated Mandy Rose via Pinfall
The match began with Mandy Rose trying to tear Sonya apart, but the injury to her knee eventually stopped her. Sonya ended up targeting the knee whenever possible. Eyelashes were torn off Mandy’s face, Sonya was ruthless during this one. Mandy did mount a comeback, but Sonya got the rollup.
After the match we got a rundown of what was to come the rest of the show. Then we went to break.
The Forgotten Sons, Miz and Morrison defeated The New Day and Lucha House Party via Pinfall (Skull Crushing Finale)
Lucha House Party and The New Day had control for a lot of this match, but The Forgotten Sons, Miz and Morrison found a way to work together for the victory. One thing is for sure, a loss isn’t the best thing for the tag team champions going into this Sunday.
After the match, The Forgotten Sons, Miz and Morrison had a bit of a stare down.
King Corbin was then interviewed by Kayla to get his thoughts on his tag match tonight. He said he was looking past tonight and straight to Sunday. Corbin said he would torture his opponents this Sunday. Then he gave a rundown of what he would do to some of his opponents.
Before commercial Michael Cole hyped up the return of Jeff Hardy.
Back from commercial, Renee Young is in the ring and brings out Jeff Hardy. Renee asked Hardy what he has left to prove. Hardy said that he has climbed a lot of mountains in WWE and Swanton’d off most of them, but he has also had some of the lowest of lows. He is still here and his lows have taught him that he is a survivor.
The cameras cut to backstage as Hardy is still talking and we see Sheamus is watching. Hardy meanwhile is talking to the fans and asking them to stick with him through this last chance. He then said he was surprised Sheamus hadn’t interrupt him yet and called him out.
Sheamus made his way down to the ring and said this was the saddest thing he had ever seen in WWE. Said Hardy is an adrenaline junkie crawling back for another sip, but no one is there to give him one. While no one will say it to his face, that is but Sheamus, everyone is tired of Hardy.
He said they are tired of the suspensions, the releases, the no shows, and wasted chances. Unlike Hardy, Sheamus isn’t afraid of the hard truths. According to Sheamus, Hardy’s next failure is right around the corner. Since Sheamus’ return he has been seeking out the weak flames, now its time to put Hardy’s out.
Sheamus made his way to the ring, but Hardy was ready for him. Sheamus didn’t even get a move off. It was all Hardy and as Hardy was leaving up the ramp, an angry Sheamus just yelled how he would rip him apart. Then a commercial break.
After returning from commercial, we got a preview for Undertaker’s five part documentary. Part one airs after Money In The Bank.
The Universal Champion, Braun Strowman made his entrance after the documentary preview. Strowman said that while he debuted with the Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt is crazy to think he made Strowman. Just like last week, he told Wyatt if he has something to say…he should say it to his face.
Bray Wyatt then came out. Wyatt said it was a shame it has come to this, when all Wyatt wanted was an apology. Strowman said he has nothing to apologize for, but Sunday Wyatt will be the one sorry.
According to Wyatt, he has always cared for Strowman and knows everything that Strowman will do (apparently that’s what a good creator does). Wyatt just wants Strowman to come home and that starts with Wyatt taking the burden that is the Universal Championship from him.
Wyatt brought out the black sheep mask that Strowman used to wear as part of the Wyatt Family. Then the puppets of the Firefly Funhouse were shown, all asking for Strowman to come home. Strowman told them all his is home and will keep his title on Sunday. He then waved bye and said he’d see him Sunday.
Backstage Drew Gulak and Daniel Bryan run into Otis. They ask how Mandy is doing and then if Otis heard what King Corbin said about him. Of course Otis didn’t because he was with his precious peach. So before commercial, Gulak and Bryan take Otis on a walk to tell him what Corbin said.
Tamina and Lacey Evans defeated Bayley and Sasha Banks via Pinfall (Samoan Drop)
The Boss and The Champ didn’t seem to be quite ready for this match. They started off by playing rock, paper, scissors to decide who would start the match, but Tamina attacked them mid game. With this victory, now Tamina (and even Lacey) has a ton of momentum going into Sunday.
Back from a commercial, we get a little tour of WWE Headquarters. There’s a gym, conference rooms, catering….a lot of possibilities to deal with Sunday.
After the tour, Kayla interviewed Dana Brooke and Carmella. Dana said no one could believe she beat Naomi to earn her spot. Brooke said she has just as good a chance as anyone else in this match because it is such an unpredictable match.
Carmella said that being a former 2 time Money In The Bank winner does give her an advantage. This Sunday she will remind everyone why Mella is Money.
King Corbin, Cesaro, and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Drew Gulak, Daniel Bryan, and Otis via Pinfall (Deep Six)
Although, Bryan’s team worked pretty well together, King Corbin and his team had tricks up their sleeves during the match. The match got a tad out of control at the end, but Corbin hit Deep Six on Gulak for the victory.
After the match Bryan, Gulak, and Otis brawled with Nakamura and Cesaro. While this was happening, Corbin decided to get a ladder. Before Corbin could climb the ladder, Bryan came back to stop him.
Corbin took care of Bryan and put the ladder back up, when Otis came back to ringside. Otis hit Corbin with the ladder, then set it back up. Unfortunately, everytime Otis tried to climb the ladder…the rungs broke.
Daniel Bryan, being a smart human, got a larger ladder and brought it to the ring. Unfortunately, Corbin tilted the ladder just enough to get rid of Bryan. We ended Smackdown with Corbin taking down the briefcase. A sign of things to come?
