WWE Monday Night Raw Results – 3rd June, 2019

Daniel McIver runs down the results from last night’s Monday Night Raw.

After a mediocre past few weeks of WWE programming and Super ShowDown this Friday, Monday Night RAW had a lot to live up to. With appearances from Brock Lesnar to The Undertaker- let’s see if they can!

  • Roman Reigns kicks off the show in the ring. Before he can speak however, Shane McMahon interrupts from the stage. He states he is going to be the first person in WWE history to make Roman Reigns tap out at Super ShowDown. Roman states that he’s going to beat Shane on Friday and then beat Drew McIntyre at ‘Stomping Grounds’ in two weeks. Drew then comes out to attack Roman with the Revival but The Usos make the save.
  • SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH- The Bloodline (Roman Reigns and The Usos) vs The Revival and Drew McIntyre. MATCH RESULT- McIntyre and The Revival win via pinfall
  • Post match- The Revival hit Reigns with a Shatter Machine and Drew hit a Claymore kick before Shane hit Roman with a spear.
  • Miz TV starts in the ring with Seth Rollins as the guest. Miz asks how Seth is feeling ahead of his match on Friday against Baron Corbin with the knowledge Brock Lesnar could cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase on him. Rollins says he isn’t worried about Brock and he will defeat Corbin at Super ShowDown. Lesnar and Heyman arrive at the arena and we see them on the titan-tron.
  • Lucha House Party come out for a planned tag match but Lars Sullivan, the three men’s opponent for Friday, comes to the ring instead. He attempts to attack the trio but the luchador’s run him off.
  • Backstage, The Iiconics are shown laughing and making fun of Nikki Cross. Alexa Bliss interrupts and hints at being friends with Nikki and says she will be ringside for Cross’ match against Peyton Royce later tonight.
  • Becky Lynch comes to the ring stating that she doesn’t want to be content as that is when a Champion is most vulnerable. She says she will do anything to get to Lacey Evans. Lacey and Charlotte come out to interrupt both stating that they could beat Becky. Evans hits Charlotte with ‘The Woman’s Right’ which leads to a match.
  • WOMAN’S SINGLES MATCH- Lacey Evans vs Charlotte Flair. MATCH RESULT- No Contest after Becky Lynch beats down both women.
  • Rey Mysterio comes out with his arm in a sling to relinquish the United States Championship. Samoa Joe interrupts before Rey can announce the vacation of the title stating that he should just give the belt back to him as he was never pinned. Rey relinquishes the title back to Joe before he is attacked by Joe.
  • Samoa Joe is the new United States Champion.
  • Backstage we see that Brock Lesnar is getting into his gear ahead of his, apparent, cash-in later tonight.
  • Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley come out to have an arm-wrestling competition. The segment receives ‘boring’ chants from the crowd. Strowman wins but Lashley blinds him with chalk after the contest and he takes out Braun with a running power-slam.
  • Backstage- Carmella is looking for R-Truth.
  • WOMAN’S SINGLES MATCH- Nikki Cross vs Peyton Royce. MATCH RESULT- Cross wins via pinfall.
  • Seth Rollins comes out to the ring but, before he can talk, Brock Lesnar’s music hits but no-one comes out. Rollins calls out Lesnar for playing mind games and states he’ll take on the Beast tonight and win. Baron Corbin interrupts to remind Rollins he has to face him for the Universal title on Friday. Corbin then attacks Rollins and hits him with the End of Days after Brock’s music distracts Seth again.
  • Brock Lesnar comes to the ring with a steel chair and hits Rollins repeatedly with the chair and multiple suplexes. Lesnar leaves Seth laying and announces he will cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Friday at Super ShowDown.
  • Seth Rollins is stretched back to an ambulance waiting in the back and taken to a hospital with Becky Lynch alongside him.
  • A ‘Special Edition’ of the FireFly Fun-House airs. It is based around exercise and showcases Vince McMahon as ‘The Devil’ in a 80’s style exercise video.
  • Triple H comes to the ring to detail his long-standing feud with Randy Orton. Randy comes out before Hunter can say anything but both men simply state that everything between them has already been said so they’re going to kick each other’s asses on Friday. However- Orton closes the promo stating he wants Triple H to get his balls back whereas Triple H states Orton has never had any.
  • MEN’S SINGLES MATCH- Ricochet vs Cesaro. MATCH RESULT- Ricochet wins via pinfall.
  • Post match- Cesaro beats down Ricochet. Cesaro went to get a table from underneath the ring but finds R-Truth attached to it. The roster empties trying to get R-Truth and the 24/7 title. Carmella super-kicks Drake Maverick.
  • The Undertaker returns to hype his match against Goldberg at Super ShowDown. He says he wants the WCW-peak Goldberg on Friday- not the family man we’ve seen recently. However, the show cuts off as Taker is finishing his promo.

With only four matches in a three hour show, it’s hard to say this was a good RAW. However, it’s clear that WWE had to rush and build towards Friday and they did so, most of the time, in a pretty coherent way. And it was a clear improvement on the usual, weekly show that we’ve been shown the past few weeks.
