Monday Night RAW has been pretty wild the past few weeks and tonight looks like that will continue.
Once again we open Monday Night RAW with Randy Orton. Orton said he needed to apologize, apparently his emotions have become “unbalanced”. Then to get the cheap pop, he said that he had been told, its been 15 years since RAW had been to Winnipeg. Back then a 24 year old Randy Orton was Intercontinental Champion and on that RAW, Adam (Edge) punched him in the face.
The crowd then chanted for Edge, who of course because of Orton’s actions can not be at RAW. He said that he knows no one will ever be able to understand what he did. Then he went on to say “he is sorry from the bottom of his heart”.
Apparently Kevin Owens didn’t think the apology was genuine and interrupted. After he took in the admiration from the crowd, he said he’s been dealing with a lot of delusional people. KO said he would put aside his issues with the Monday Night Moron, to deal with Orton. KO wanted to know Orton’s explanation for his actions against Edge.
Orton told him not to go down that road, but KO didn’t listen. KO instead told Orton how much he respected Edge and was so excited about his return. Well that is until Orton took that away. Orton, trying to be clever, just said “You think you know me?”
KO then challenges Orton to a fight, which he accepted for later in the night.
Backstage Charly Caruso interviewed Zelina Vega and Angel Garza. Vega says their business with Humberto Carrillo is a chore to take out the trash. She said while family is very important, there is some family you’d rather deny. After taking care of Carrillo, Vega says there will be nothing in Garza’s way to the top.
Angel Garza defeated Humberto Carrillo via Pinfall
A match that the crowd absolutely loved. Garza and Carrillo certainly have a ton of chemistry, being family that makes sense. With a rollup victory, I doubt this family feud is over.
After the conclusion of the match, we get a video recap of Shayna Baszler’s RAW debut.
Ricochet defeated Luke Gallows via Pinfall (Shooting Star Press)
A Shooting Star Press hey? If that ain’t a warning shot, well I don’t know what is. After facing Karl Anderson last week, Ricochet has had issues with the OC. Gallows was a perfect opponent to prepare Ricochet for Thursday against Lesnar.
Upon coming back from commercial, The OC was seen backstage arguing. Once Styles finally got things under control, he said that they could see a miracle happen at Super Showdown. Although he said its a small chance Ricochet could beat Brock Lesnar, it would be a miracle. But no matter the champ, Styles says he’ll be there ready to take the title.
Then Aleister Black was walking past and The OC decided to remind him who they are. They beat him up and walk off.
We then get an appearance from Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. Heyman said that Thursday’s match holds high stakes, apparently higher than ever for Lesnar. He said all the what ifs surrounding the WWE Title match can be thrown out the window. SPOILER ALERT! Lesnar will go on to Mania and will make mincemeat out of Drew McIntyre, according to Heyman.
Aleister Black defeated Erick Rowan via Pinfall (Black Mass)
Not even a beat down by The OC could stop Aleister. Although Rowan was in control for most of the match, Black found a way to hit two Black Mass kicks.
In an interview after the match, Black challenged AJ Styles to a fight next week. RAW then went to commercial.
Drew McIntyre had a sit down interview with Charly Caruso when we come back from break. McIntyre discussed his first WWE run, how he got fired, and how he does not care who he faces at Mania. He says it is now his opportunity to fulfill his potential and become WWE Champion.
When we go to the ring, R-Truth is there. Truth invites the WWE Universe to TruthTV. His first guests are Bobby Lashley and Lana. Lana and Lashley aren’t there for TruthTV, but a match that Lashley has with Truth.
Truth said he knew there was supposed to be a match, but he was hoping to just ask some questions because Lashley is really big. When Truth tries to ask if Lashley has seen Sonic the Hedgehog, Lana screams into her mic to ring the bell.
Bobby Lashley defeated R-Truth via Pinfall (Spear)
Another week, another homage to Truth’s childhood hero John Cena. Sadly, Truth could not pull off the victory and Lashley won via spear.
Couple of little segments before the next matchup all in a row. Asuka comes to the ring for the Womens Elimination Chamber Contract Signing, AJ Styles VS Aleister Black confirmed for next week as is Mysterio & Humberto Vs. Angel & Andrade. We go to Lawler in the ring who’ll be conducting the contract signing.
Asuka, Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan, Liv Morgan, Natalya all are in the ring with no sign of Shayna Baszler. All the women eventually sign the contract when Baszler comes from the crowd. She stars down the other girls. The brawl begins, as expected, before Becky Lynchs music hits as she comes down to fight Shayna, who has signed the contract at this stage. Refs break it up, and we go to commercial.
Murphy Vs. Angelo Dawkins
Match goes to a DQ after Seth gets involved. leading to;
Montez Ford Vs. Seth Rollins.
Rollins wins with a curbstomp after an impressive showing from Montez, who missed a big frogsplash before the pin.
Seth Rollins Wins
After commercial, Beth Phoenix announces that she’ll give an update on Edges status next week which leads to Randy Orton Vs. Kevin Owens.
Randy Orton Vs. Kevin Owens.
A very strange ending. Randy Orton won however it wasn’t because of the RKO or anything Randy did. Ref called for the bell after a draping DDT onto Owens, after some Seth Rollins interference. Weird.
Randy Orton Wins?
Postmatch shenanigans, leads to the ref actually wearing a Rollins shirt under his stripes, which explains the weird ending to the match, Rollins and Owens brawl a little including Tables and Chairs, Kevin powerbombs the ref through the table as the show goes off the air with Kevin sitting in chair.
