This week’s episode of NXT saw the final of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Finn Balor defeated Trent Seven via pinfall
This match took place as a result of Balor’s attack on Seven after Worlds Collide. It was a good match, largely controlled by Balor though Seven did get a lot of hard-hitting offence in later on. Balor got the pinfall win with a Coup de Grace and a 1916.
It was announced that Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair will be face-to-face next week.
Shotzi Blackheart defeated Deonna Purrazzo via pinfall
Blackheart showed some impressive agility in the ring, but the biggest takeaway here is that she now enters the arena in a miniature tank. The crowd loved this and were rooting for her throughout the match.
Keith Lee cut a promo where he added “prophecy-ender” to his growing list of monikers. He was interrupted by Damian Priest and later Dominik Dijakovic. Lee wanted no part of it and left the ring. Priest and Dijakovic both wanted Lee’s NXT North American Championship and ended up having a match.
Dominik Dijakovic defeated Damian Priest via pinfall
This was a very good match with multiple high-risk manoeuvres such as a huge Poison Rana off the top rope. The commentary kept mentioning the NXT North American Championship throughout the match, almost making this an unofficial number one contenders match.
As the cameras were backstage, Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly were all lying one the floor completely lifeless. Tommaso Ciampa then walked into the scene wielding a metal pole. He walked down to the ring and set up a table, painting a yellow ‘X’ on it.
After seeing his Undisputed Era stablemates on the floor, Adam Cole came down to the ring and pretended to valiantly confront Ciampa, but Cole jumped him near the ropes. Despite Cole’s efforts, Ciampa powerbombed the NXT Champion through the table and signs a contract making their match at TakeOver: Portlant official. Ciampa bled on the NXT Title and smeared his blood on the contract.
The new NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Jordan Devlin will be in action next week on NXT.
Tegan Nox defeated Dakota Kai via pinfall
Kai made her entrance after playing a video showing her gruesome attack on Nox at TakeOver: WarGames. The match quickly went to the outside and took a violent turn. Candice LeRae ran out to stop Kai from using a steel chair as a weapon, but she herself ended up trying to hit Kai with the chair. Nox capitalised by hitting the Shiniest Wizard and pinning Dakota Kai in relatively quick fashion.
Kayden Carter defeated Chelsea Green w/ Robert Stone via pinfall
This was a very good showing for Carter who demonstrated her innovative offence. Green seemed furious after losing to a roll-up, shouting “who are you?!” across the arena at Carter.
Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic: Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne defeated Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) via pinfall
The Broserweights utilised more tandem offence than ever in this match, combining each other’s signature moves and mirroring one another. Gibson and Drake also had a great showing, especially Drake who kicked out of multiple near-finishes. He eventually got pinned by Dunne after being hit by a super-GTS from Riddle.
