After failing to impress Rhea Ripley last week, how will Dakota Kai react to her loss?
NXT Cruiserweight Championship: Lio Rush defeated Angel Garza via pinfall
This was a very fast paced match. Towards the end, Garza went for an avalanche version of his finisher, but Rush reversed it into a Frankensteiner. Rush got the victory after two beautiful frog splashes.
Tegan Nox and Rhea Ripley were lying out cold in the car park. Officials rushed to the scene but there was no attacker to be seen.
Xia Li defeated Alliyah w/ Vanessa Borne via pinfall
Despite constant interruptions from Borne, Li made quick work of Alliyah, pinning her with a roundhouse kick which busted Alliyah wide open. She required medical assistance after the match.
Finn Balor cut a condescending promo asking what happened to NXT. He said that he used to love NXT, but now it is full of little boys. Just as Balor name-dropped Matt Riddle, Riddle ran out to attack him, but Balor made a lucky escape through the crowd. As Riddle stood tall, out came The Undisputed Era to surround him, but he was saved by Keith Lee and Tommaso Ciampa.
Adam Cole went back-and-forth with Keith Lee on the mic, but Roderick Strong told Cole to take the night off. He then challenged Lee to a match which took place after the break.
Keith Lee defeated Roderick Strong via pinfall
Lee controlled the early stages of the match with his power advantage. The Undisputed Era came down to ringside, but were attacked by Tommaso Ciampa and Matt Riddle before Finn Balor put the odds back in the UE’s favour. With Lee distracted, Strong hit him with a very impressive Olympic Slam for a two-count. Lee then hit a jackhammer for the win.
The Undisputed Era attacked Keith Lee after the match and despite Ciampa and Riddle’s saving effort, they were still outnumbered. Dominik Dijakovic ran out to even the odds. Lee and Dijakovic stared each other down and put their differences aside.
There was another attack in the car park, this time targeting Candice LeRae, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir.
Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott defeated Bronson Reed via pinfall
Scott got the win with his House Call finisher.
Cathy Kelley announced that Finn Balor will face Matt Riddle at TakeOver: War Games, and that Dijakovik will replace Riddle in the men’s War Games match.
Pete Dunne vs. Killian Dain never started
Killian Dain was attacked by Damian Priest during his entrance, then Dunne got involved in the brawl. A big dive from Priest grounded Dunne and Dain. This seems to be building towards a triple threat match.
During Cathy Kelley’s interview with Mia Yim, Dakota Kai walked in to assure Yim that she has no hard feelings for her, and that Dakota has her back no matter what.
Adam Cole faces Dominik Dijakovic next week in a ladder match for a War Games advantage.
Io Shirai defeated Mia Yim in a ladder match for a War Games advantage
Towards the end of the match, Shirai dropkicked a ladder straight into Yim’s face which busted her wide open. Dakota Kai ran down to the ring to check on Mia Yim, but Io wiped them both out with a moonsault.
Kai then stopped Shirai from climbing the ladder and pushed Yim into the ring, telling her to climb, but in a shocking twist; out came NXT UK Women’s Champion, Kay Lee Ray who pushed the ladder sending Yim flying through a bridged ladder on the outside. Ray guarded Shirai as she climbed the ladder and won the War Games advantage.
Kay Lee Ray appears to be the fourth member of the heel women’s War Games team, as she was celebrating with Bianca Belair and Shirai before Shayna Baszler came out. Before she could say anything, she herself was ambushed by SmackDown Women’s Champion, Bayley who hit her with multiple chair shots. The show faded to black immediately after this attack.
