WWE NXT Results – November 6th, 2019

Dei Owen runs down the results from tonight’s episode of NXT.

With War Games only weeks away, can Dakota Kai impress Rhea Ripley as she takes the fight to Shayna Baszler?

The OC jumped the barricade to open the show. AJ Styles was interrupted by Tommaso Ciampa who was met with deafening “daddy’s home” chants. He welcomed The OC to “the main roster” before challenging them to a match.

The main event was then set as Ciampa would team with Matt Riddle and Keith Lee to take on The OC.

Pete Dunne defeated Damian Priest via submission

This match was very closely contested throughout. Towards the end, Dunne pushed Priest into the corner, trapping the referee. He then countered Priest’s low blow into one of his own before locking in a violent finger-bend submission for the win. Pete Dunne was very aggressive in this match, more so than usual.

After the match, Killian Dain attacked Pete Dunne and hit him with a Vader Bomb.

Dakota Kai was asked backstage about Shayna Baszler. She said she was going to kick Shayna’s ass.

Taynara defeated Santana Garrett via pinfall

This was a very impressive performance from Taynara, who wrestled a very mat-based style that suits her character. She got the pinfall victory with a thrust kick. Commentary talked about the importance of impressing Rhea Ripley and Shayna Baszler throughout the match.

Shayna Baszler defeated Dakota Kai via submission

Though Kai was very aggressive with her kicks, Baszler got the win by catching Kai into a rear naked choke. Dakota nearly made it to the rope, but Shayna trapped her arm and she was forced to tap out.

After the match, a brawl breaks out involving the whole NXT women’s division. Mia Yim came out on top.

NXT Cruiserweight Championship #1 Contendership match: Angel Garza defeated Tony Nese via pinfall

This match was exceptional. Garza has a very strong connection with the Full Sail crowd. Lio Rush offered him a handshake after the match, but Garza slapped him in the face.

Angel Garza challenges Lio Rush for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship next week.

Rhea Ripley was asked who the fourth member of her team will be. She decided that Mia Yim will join her. Dakota Kai walked away looking very disappointed. This is fantastic character development from Kai.

Dominik Dijakovik defeated Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott via pinfall

Dijakovic got the win with the Feast Your Eyes. Scott in particular looked incredible here. His movements were so smooth and fed perfectly into Dijakovic’s offence.

Mia Yim faces Io Shirai next week in a ladder match for a War Games advantage. It was not said what the advantage will be.

The OC (AJ Styles, Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) vs. Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee & Matt Riddle

After a big brawl at the beginning of the match, AJ Styles went one-on-one with Tommaso Ciampa for a while. Matt Riddle then took a bullet for Ciampa as he took a Phenomenal Forearm from Styles.

The finish came as Keith Lee launched AJ Styles into the referee, knocking the official out. This provided an opening for Finn Balor to come out and align himself with The OC. Adam Cole then superkicked Styles and stared down Balor from the ring as the show faded to black.
