WWE Positive COVID Tests Update

WWE Covid 19

As reported by numerous sources, WWE could be about to be hit with a major disruption in terms of their television taping schedule due to positive novel coronavirus test.

To save you from reading the same back story over and over again, we’ll be updating this post with the positive cases and the back story.

Dave Meltzer, of F4WOnline.com, reported that people have been told that Covid-19 testing will be taking place at every taping moving forward as a way to work around the travel restrictions. One talent noted that everyone is expected to “isolate” and stay home or in hotel rooms.

John Pollock, of PostWrestling.com, reported that WWE plans to do double tapings of RAW and Smackdown this Friday and Saturday. Testing is already taking place with Pollock noting the following:

“A second person we spoke with noted they were tested today (Wednesday) with testing taking place on Thursday, as well.”

John Pollock of PostWrestling.com

Mike Johnson, of PWInsider.com: One source speculated that as many as “two dozen” people tested positive for the virus amongst talents, production workers, and staff. However, this information has not been confirmed.

The belief is that Smackdown will have to be re-written to some degree and “friends and family” audience members aren’t expected to be attending the next tapings.

PWTorch.com notes that “they [employees and talent] are getting frustrated with the lack of communication on this life and death issue.”

WWE then issued a brief statement:

“WWE will continue COVID-19 testing of its talent, production crew and employees in advance of TV productions for the foreseeable future.”

Positive WWE Tests

Renee Young:

Dave Meltzer reported that after testing NOT Positive from WWE’s test, Young’s test was done in Las Vegas on Monday and she got her results Tuesday Night (23rd). Young has been very sick and lost her sense as smell, which is why she got tested. It is assumed that Renee is the “secondhand expose” that Tony Khan alluded to in a tweet re; Jon Moxley missing AEW Dynamite.

Adam Pearce:

WWE Producer and occassional acting Smackdown authority figure in recent weeks.

Kayla Braxton:

Two Times for Kayla. Once back in March and now in June.
