Tonight’s RAW features contract signings between Asuka and Sasha Banks; as well as Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler.
RAW begins real quick with chaos! Samoa Joe is in the ring trying to restore some sort of order, but Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Asuka are in the middle of brawling.
Referees ran down to the ring (after Joe yelled for them) to try and be of some help, as Joe got on a mic trying to welcome us to RAW. Of course as Joe is trying to be a lovely host, the brawl began again. Once the woman were separated again, Dolph Ziggler interrupted Joe.
Ziggler then gives a rather, interesting introduction for Drew McIntyre. After McIntyre made his way to the ring and sat down, Joe asked Ziggler to sign the contract. Before he did, Ziggler posed the question of where McIntyre would be without him. While McIntyre was off trying to find himself, Ziggler has been taken down giants like him for the past 15 years.
Ziggler said that at Extreme Rules he knows McIntyre is going to kick and hit him, but he will continue to get back up. He said the redemption story of Drew McIntyre will disappear and snaps his fingers.
McIntyre then signed the contract before he decided to say anything. He seemed to appreciate Ziggler’s passion, but he figured out why Ziggler wanted the WWE Championship. Simply put Ziggler wants to be the center of attention, but alas always the bridesmaid never the bride. McIntyre then said that because they are like family, he will let Ziggler pick the stipulation for their match.
Before Ziggler really had the chance to respond, Asuka interrupted. Asuka said a few passionate words in Japanese and then signed the contract. Sasha Banks got the mic and made it clear she is not the same person that Asuka once faced. At Extreme Rules Banks said she will become 2 Belts Banks, while her and Bayley take over the company.
Asuka then attacked Banks and Bayley again. This time McIntyre and Ziggler got in on the action and McIntyre barely missed Ziggler with a Claymore.
We then see a recap of what occurred after the Street Profits versus the Viking Raiders last week.
Backstage Angel Garza is trying to sweeten up Jessika Carr, who will be the referee in his tag team match later tonight.
After, Zelina Vega and Andrade stroll up, Carr heads out. Don’t worry though, Charly Caruso then showed up to interview the trio. Vega answered Caruso’s question about what Garza was doing talking to Carr. Then Andrade answered her next question and said they will be next in line for a tag team title opportunity after their victory tonight.
Big Show then interrupted. He said he knew their match was next, but he was pulling the veteran status out. Said he was going to the ring to deal with Randy Orton.
After a commercial, we came back to Big Show calling out Randy Orton. Show didn’t get much of a chance to call out RKO because Zelina Vega and her boys interrupted.
Show let them know it was not a good night to try him. Andrade and Angel Garza questioned calling Big Show a legend. Show reminded them he has boots older than them both and tried to get them to realize he was not in the mood. The kept egging the Giant on, until he told them to fight.
Vega told him her boys would do Randy Orton a favor and send Show to the retirement home, joining Edge and Christian. Before the fight could happen, Ric Flair came out. Flair said RKO was backstage, but he will come and face Show when he feels like it. Flair then gave Andrade and Garza his blessing to fight Show and told them to have fun.
Zelina’s boys didn’t get the opportunity for their fight against Show because the Viking Raiders came out. We go to break while Garza, Andrade, and the Viking Raiders brawl.
Angel Garza and Andrade defeated The Viking Raiders via Pinfall (Wing Clipper)
Erik and Ivar seemed to be well on their way to victory in this one, but things fell apart quick. After Andrade escaped the Viking Experience, Andrade was able to hit an elbow, but Garza made a tag to “steal” the winning pin.
Andrade wasn’t thrilled about the tag and did not celebrate the win with Garza or Zelina.
After the match, we saw what happened in Liv Morgan’s loss to Natalya last week.
Backstage we saw Ruby Riott trying to get a hold of someone on her cell, when the IIconics showed up. Peyton and Billie were rather unkind to Riott, so she challenged either member of the tag team to meet her in the ring later.
Back from another commercial, Andrade is arguing with Zelina and Garza…or having a heated discussion. Ric Flair then came up to them and seemed to have a proposition for them.
R-Truth defeated Akira Tozawa via Pinfall (Rollup)
I think Truth out ninja’d a ninja….or however Joe put it. Truth got his baby back and is now 24/7 Champion for the 37th time, but no complaints by this girl.
After the match, a couple of the ninjas attempted to win the 24/7 Championship from Truth, but he was able to escape.
Recap of what happened during the VIP Lounge and after Apollo Crews’ title defense is shown. Then Bobby Lashley and MVP have a little meeting backstage. Lashley said Crews has been disrespectful to MVP, which in turn is disrespectful to him. MVP said the offer to Crews is dead, but he has a few more bits of wisdom to share with Crews.
MVP and Lashley then passed by Seth Rollins and Murphy. He told Murphy he has an important message and it needed to be given now.
Rollins and Murphy are in the ring after we get a recap of last week’s events between them and the Mysterio’s. Rollins said it was heartwarming seeing Rey Mysterio and his son Dominick last week on RAW. He even said he believed that Mysterio will return the ring because he has a duty to uphold. Rollins though believes Mysterio has not been seeing things too clearly lately because his duty is to be a sacrifice to Monday Night RAW.
Seth said he had given chance after chance to Mysterio and now he is asking for forgiveness. He wasn’t asking for forgiveness for the past, but for what he will do to Mysterio in the future. According to Rollins, Mysterio’s fate is to be a sacrifice. Piece by piece, Rollins will tear Mysterio apart.
Rollins was then interrupted by Rey and Dominick on the tron. Rey asked Dominick for forgiveness for his future actions. Mysterio reminded Rollins, ‘an eye for an eye.’ Dominick said he will never forgive Seth Rollins and told him he will never forget what his father does to Rollins.
Rollins told them to be careful what they wish for, but is soon interrupted by Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo.
Back from another commercial, Rollins asked why they were fighting Mysterio’s battles. Well he specifically asked why Mysterio is Carrillo’s hero when Mysterio is a coward.
Carrillo said the only coward is Rollins. Aleister Black said there is no forgiveness for Rollins, but atonement for all he has done.
Murphy and Seth Rollins defeated Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo via Pinfall (Curb Stomp)
It seemed like Black and Carrillo never really had much control over this match. They had many good chances, but the Monday Night Messiah always seems to have a plan b.
Unfortunately for Black and Carrillo, Rollins and Murphy were not done with their destruction. After the match, Murphy and Rollins attacked Aleister Black. Then they turned their focus to Carrillo.
They attempted to bring Carrillo over to the steps, so he could be like his idol. Carrillo fought out of it, but Murphy hit him with the steps and stopped all Carrillo’s momentum. Then Rollins put the purple Mysterio mask he has been carrying around on Carrillo.
Luckily, Black was able to fight off Rollins and Murphy before they could put his eye into the steps. Unfortunately, Rollins was still able to Curb Stomp Carrillo into the steps.
Drew McIntyre and Asuka were seen backstage strategizing for their tag match, when an interviewer showed up. McIntyre said that tonight is about having fun for him and that he is letting Ziggler pick the stipulation because it leaves no room for excuses when Ziggler loses.
A tribute to the Undertaker and his career is shown.
After the tribute video, Lana tried to talk to Ruby Riott. Lana then talked about a woman who has more wins than any woman in WWE history…Natalya.
Peyton Royce defeated Ruby Riott via Pinfall (Spinning Brainbuster)
This was an impressive victory for Royce, even though Billie Kay did help distract Riott. The finishing move though was a thing of beauty.
The Big Show was shown preparing for his match backstage. When he was interviewed he said that tonight Andrade and Angel Garza were not getting the fun and happy Big Show, but the angry giant.
Big Show defeated Andrade and Angel Garza via Pinfall (Choke Slam)
Things definitely seem off with Zelina Vega’s crew. After paying Garza back by tagging himself into the match, Andrade was left alone to deal with Big Show and it didn’t end well for him.
Garza left with Vega, while Big Show delivered the knockout punch to Andrade after the match.
Backstage Ricochet, Cedric Alexander, and Apollo Crews are seen hanging out backstage. R-Truth came up and said he finally got away from the ninjas, at least he hoped. Truth called Alexander and Ricochet by completely different names, but it was a fun segment.
When we returned from another commercial MVP and Bobby Lashley were in the ring. Lashley wanted to hear the reasons why MVP was going to teach Apollo Crews a lesson because ya know, we gotta know. MVP said it was very simple, he said nothing matters if he can’t give back. He said he offered to mentor Crews and he shouldn’t have rejected or disrespected him.
Crews then interrupted. He said if MVP cared about anyone but himself, he wouldn’t have kept pushing Crews after he said no. MVP said he’ll find out tonight why he shouldn’t have made him an enemy.
MVP defeated Apollo Crews via Pinfall (Fisherman’s Suplex)
Unfortunately for Crews, this might as well have been a handicap match. Lashley save MVP a few times by pulling him out of the ring and distracted Crews multiple times.
After the match, Lashley put Crews in the Full Nelson. Ricochet and Cedric Alexander had to make the save and pull Lashley away.
Bobby Lashley defeated Ricochet via Submission (Full Nelson)
Although Ricochet had Alexander at ringside to make the match more fair, MVP still was plenty distracting. Just when it seemed Ricochet had Lashley right where he wanted him, MVP got on the ring apron. Alexander pulled him off, but this changed Ricochet’s plan from a top rope move and left opportunity for the Full Nelson.
After the match, Lashley put Alexander in the Full Nelson for good measure.
When we went backstage, Dolph Ziggler was discussing the upcoming tag team match with Sasha Banks and Bayley. Ziggler said that he was a big fan of the Role Models and that tonight would work. Banks laughed and said that while her and Bayley have been dominating, Ziggler has been wrapped up with Otis and Mandy Rose. Bayley just told Ziggler not to screw this up for Banks.
Sasha Banks and Dolph Ziggler defeated Asuka and Drew McIntyre via Pinfall (Rollup)
The match was fun, McIntyre and Asuka seemed to have a pretty good game plan, but Sasha Banks has been the queen of rollup victories lately. After Asuka managed to break out of the Bank Statement, Banks turned the Asuka Lock into the winning pin.
