Tonight we find out who will be the final member of Team RAW.
We began RAW with Miz TV. Miz talked up the season premiere of Miz and Mrs, Thursday in case you didn’t know. Before Miz could introduce the New Day as his guests, the WWE Champion Randy Orton interrupted.
Orton wasn’t thrilled that Miz and Morrison cared more about a reality show compared to their tag team match tonight. Then Orton believed he was being set up since Miz holds the Money In The Bank briefcase. Orton yelled at both Miz and Morrison, one for being a supposed outsider and the other for taking their ball and going to the minor leagues.
Then Orton turned around as if to give Miz a free shot. Miz and Morrison then did their best to make Orton understand it could be a big night for all of them. For example if they win their match later, Miz and Morrison said they could be in line for a tag team championship opportunity.
Before they could continue, The New Day interrupted! They thought what they had been hearing was ridiculous. Kofi said they came out to the ring to laugh at them in person. Once they got in the ring, well hell broke loose! Orton RKO’d Kofi, while Miz and Morrison took out Xavier Woods.
Drew McIntyre tried to come out and make the save, but he eventually was also brought down by a RKO. Then we went to commercial break.
Returning from break, Elias was in the ring. He spoke about having a successful album and being a famous WWE Superstar, but he needs to be on the Survivor Series team. He dedicated his victory and a song to his fans, although he never actually got around to singing that song because Jeff Hardy’s entrance music hit.
Riddle defeated Elias and Jeff Hardy via Pinfall to qualify for Team RAW
As AJ Styles watched from backstage, Riddle was able to get the victory. Jeff Hardy was attempting to hit Twist of Fate on Riddle, but Elias came in with a flying knee. This knocked Hardy out of the ring. Riddle was able to hit Bro-Derek on Elias for the victory.
Backstage Adam Pearce was talking with AJ Styles when Charly Caruso showed up. Styles seemed excited about Riddle joining Team RAW, calling him the missing piece. When Styles started to talk about how last week got out of hand, Sheamus showed up.
Sheamus was not happy about Riddle being on the team, even called him a shoeless muppet. He said he had no problem kicking Riddle in the head if he stepped out of line. This is when Styles decided to call a team meeting. Caruso then was able to ask Sheamus how Styles was doing as team captain.
Sheamus said AJ was not his captain. Then Braun Strowman showed up and said the same thing. We then went to another commercial break.
Returning from break we saw a replay of what went down between Ricochet and Mustafa Ali last week. After the video we went backstage and heard from Ali. He said that Ricochet was a good man. Then he applauded Ricochet for making the conscious decision to stand alone when he turned down the Hurt Business.
While Ali gave him props, he still called Ricochet stupid for believing one man can change anything. Reckoning (Mia Yim) then spoke about how it is easy to feel alone when manipulated and misguided, but where does that leave you? According to Ali no mercy was shown to them, so no mercy will be shown to Ricochet.
After checking in with commentary, we went backstage yet again this time to see The Hurt Business. The new 24/7 Champion, Drew Gulak came up to them and proposed joining the Hurt Business. As you can guess, that didn’t go well. Gulak was wearing a clip on tie!
Gulak got beat up by the Hurt Business and was left on the ground as they walked away. R-Truth then snuck up! Truth got a referee and won the 24/7 Championship back!
Lana made her entrance to the ring before we went to commercial break.
Shayna Baszler defeated Lana via Submission (Kirifuda Clutch)
Before the match we got a replay of Lana being put through the announce table last week. As you can imagine, the match didn’t last long. Lana tried to sneak up on Baszler with a sleeper hold, but that failed.
After the match, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke stopped Nia Jax from putting Lana through a table! Then we went to commercial break.
Back from break, Lana attempted to thank Mandy and Dana for saving her. Dana and Mandy said they didn’t do it for her, but to send a message to Shayna and Nia. They were still upset that Lana was the reason they lost the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
At ringside, AJ Styles made his entrance to the ring accompanied by James Omogbehin. Once in the ring, Styles brought out the rest of Team RAW.
Styles once again said last week got off to a rocky start and maybe it was a bad idea, but he said they were just missing a piece of the puzzle. Now what he sees in the ring is a masterpiece.
Keith Lee interrupted and told AJ that he owes him a receipt after last week. Sheamus laughed and called Lee a hypocrite because Lee kicked him out of the ring last week. Things started to get out of hand between the men in the ring, that is until Riddle spoke up.
Riddle gave everyone a code name to chill out. Aj was the skipper, Strowman is mongoose, Keith is BroLee, and Sheamus: Fire Face. Everyone else seemed to find Sheamus’ code name funny, but Sheamus! Then we found out Riddle’s code name was Dopey.
Styles tried to put fear in Team RAW by going over what Team Smackdown would do to each of them. After yet another argument about Styles being team captain, Styles brought out Plan B. Braun Strowman teaming up with Sheamus against Riddle and Keith Lee with AJ Styles as special guest referee. Apparently the idea is it would get everyone to respect each other.
Keith Lee and Riddle defeated Sheamus and Braun Strowman via Pinfall (Rollup)
Was there logic to the reason behind this match? Probably not. Styles was knocked out of the match, after being smashed between Lee and Strowman. Lee though was awesome in this match. He used Sheamus as a weapon to take out Strowman and then used Riddle as a weapon! Some miscommunication by Strowman and Sheamus led to their loss.
After the match, Sheamus and Strowman argued while Styles attempted to keep peace.
Then we went backstage to see Alexa Bliss picking rose petals. Nikki Cross then came up to her to chat. Bliss didn’t remember seeing her last week, which is what Cross wanted to talk to her about. Cross said this wasn’t a game and said she was here for Bliss. She believed The Fiend was evil and asked Bliss to pick between her or Him. Bliss chose Him.
MVP and Bobby Lashley made their entrance and seemed very happy. Charly Caruso then informed us that Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin will face The New Day next week for the RAW Tag Team Championships.
When we returned from break MVP told us The Hurt Business would walk into Survivor Series and face The Street Profits. Then he said Bobby Lashley would turn Sami Zayn into a human rag doll. Lashley was happy to have not heard Zayn run his mouth this past week on Smackdown. Before Lashley could continue talking about Survivor Series he was interrupted by Titus O’Neil.
Titus said a few weeks he proposed the business decision to join The Hurt Business, but he felt disrespected. He then challenged Lashley to a US Championship match.
Bobby Lashley defeated Titus O’Neil via Submission (Hurt Lock)
Titus came out of the gate guns a blazing. As commentary said, he was dropping bombs on Lashley. Titus hit a lot of body shots, but unfortunately one mistake led to a Spear. Lashley put him in The Hurt Lock and that was that.
Backstage Sheamus once again complained to Drew McIntyre about Team RAW. Sheamus said there was no organization within the team, but if McIntyre had joined they would have stood a chance at being organized.
McIntyre said that things may be better if Sheamus stopped Brogue Kicking his partners. Sheamus said Strowman deserved it, then went into complaining about The New Day. To try and ease the tension, McIntyre began doing The New Day clap. It didn’t help matters.
Sheamus wished they could go back to the old days of them teaming up. The two men then reminisced for a few moments on “kicking heads and drinking kegs.” This finally got Sheamus to smile and he wished McIntyre luck tonight. McIntyre said that once he got the WWE Championship back they would go out and Naitch it up.
Asuka made her entrance and then we went to another commercial break.
Back from break, Nia Jax was interviewed before making her entrance. Jax said she requested this match because there seems to be confusion on who runs the women’s division. Jax said she is the leader and leader of Team RAW.
Asuka defeated Nia Jax by DQ
Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke and Lana were ringside for the match. Of course, Shayna Baszler accompanied Jax. With so many people ringside, things were bound to go haywire. Asuka began the match with an armbar, but Jax eventually got her feet under the ropes. Jax was able to crawl to the outside, but Asuka kept hold of the armbar. Jax threw Asuka against the barricade.
Asuka had Jax in another submission, when Baszler jumped up on the apron. Lana then tried to get Baszler down, but Asuka hip attacked both women. Once they were dealt with, she put Jax in the Asuka Lock. Baszler got in the ring and broke it up.
After the match all hell broke loose between the six women. This chaos eventually led to Lana being put through a table for the eighth time. Jax then got on the mic and said Lana didn’t belong here and she should just quit.
After getting a recap of what happened at the opening, we went backstage to see R-Truth. Truth was informed that he would be defending the 24/7 Championship in a 7 way match.
Akira Tozawa defeated R-Truth, Drew Gulak, Lince Dorado, Gran Metalik, Tucker, and Erik via Pinfall
Everyone but Tozawa attacked Truth at the beginning of the match. Tozawa waited until everyone began beating each other up.
Of course Tozawa would not hold the championship for long, the championship changed hands NINE Times. After it seemed like everyone who participated in the match won the championship….
R-Truth defeated Tucker via Pinfall (Attitude Adjustment)
His childhood hero, John Cena, would be so proud.
Then we went to another commercial break.
Mustafa Ali defeated Ricochet via Submission (Koji Clutch)
A really entertaining match between the two former (?) friends. Ricochet looked to have the match won, but he jumped off the top rope on to the members of Retribution at ringside instead of going after Ali. This gave Ali time to get some energy back. Once Ricochet got back to the top rope, Ali rolled out of the way.
After the match, Adam Pearce was backstage talking to Randy Orton. Pearce delivered the news that Orton would defend his WWE Championship against Drew McInytre next week. Orton was livid.
Orton made his entrance and then we went to commercial break.
Drew McIntyre and The New Day defeated Miz, Morrison, and Randy Orton via Pinfall (Claymore Kick)
Orton did not allow Miz or Morrison to tag him into the match. McIntyre at one point begged Orton to get in and fight him, but it was a no go. Orton took his WWE Championship and watched McIntyre kick Morrison’s head off from the entrance ramp.
That’s the show!
