During the last night of the WWE Draft, we will find out who will be the new number one contender to Asuka’s RAW Women’s Championship.
We began the night with a rundown of who is coming to Monday Night RAW thanks to the Draft. Then commentary explained us how the draft would go: for every 2 picks Smackdown gets, RAW would get 3. Ya know the 3 hour show getting three picks.
Then we got the entrance of the Legend Killer. Once Orton got the mic he said that it didn’t matter what brand he was drafted to because after Hell In A Cell, he would walk out as WWE Champion. He said 2020 has been a hell of a year, but undisputedly it has been the year of Drew McIntyre.
Orton said he found out a few days ago, that when he pinned McIntyre last week it was the first time McIntyre had been pinned in almost a year. Orton then looked at the camera and spoke right to McIntyre, he said in two weeks he would end his legacy and become the WWE Champion. Of course Orton would do this with the three most dangerous letters in WWE….RK. Then he was interrupted by Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre gave him credit for pinning him, but didn’t understand why Orton didn’t go for the punt. At Hell In A Cell, McIntyre said all the pain and suffering he causes Orton will be for him. Then McIntyre brought up his promise from last week about beating up Orton every time they are in the same building.
Then, a brawl ensued!
Before we went to commercial we saw Stephanie McMahon, she got the draft picks for the first round.
After Stephanie gave us the first round draft picks, we saw Aleister Black in the ring waiting for the entrance of Kevin Owens.
Kevin Owens defeated Aleister Black via Pinfall (Powerbomb)
No disqualifications? No problem. Black and Owens began this match quick, with Black attacking Owens as soon as he got to the ring. The action quickly went to the outside, where KO set up a table. While a powerbomb through that table didn’t work out for KO, Black was able to slam KO on the announce table. A Metora by Black, which sent KO through chairs, almost got him the victory but once again KO kept fighting. After a Stunner, KO hit the powerbomb and that was that!
Backstage we saw Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke chatting before their appearance on Miz TV.
After Round Two of the Draft, Miz and Morrison welcomed us to Miz TV. After some banter from the tag team, Rose and Brooke made their entrance with their own tag team music!
Miz said he didn’t want to make the entire show about Rose thanking him for the opportunity he got her, but he was gonna do it anyways. Rose was not thrilled and called Miz on his pettiness. She said he did it purposely to punish Otis and separate her and Otis.
Morrison said Rose should be thanking them and giving them a pat on the back. When she wouldn’t, Miz focused on Brooke and making sure she knew what she got herself into. The dual brand battle royal was brought up, Rose and Brooke agreed, “may the best woman win.”
Then Lana and Natalya interrupted. Lana didn’t understand why Miz had Rose and Brooke as his guests, when Nattie and her were available. Apparently if they want the tea they should come to Lana. Rose said if she spent less time on Tik Tok and trained more they may actually win a match! Then all hell broke loose! The women brawled before a commercial break.
Back from break it was still Miz TV, except the women were gone. Miz said he had a plan B for guests, which was Morrison. Before they could really chat, Lars Sullivan interrupted. Miz and Morrison tried to fake him out and leave, but Lars caught Morrison! Lars then destroyed Morrison as Miz looked on.
Backstage we saw Adam Pearce with The New Day and The Street Profits, he was there to see a peaceful exchange of tag team championships. He oversaw a peaceful exchange and then left.
After Pearce left, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler showed up. They demanded an opportunity at the RAW Tag Team Championships. The New Day agreed to give them a shot, tonight.
We saw Seth Rollins walking backstage and then went to commercial break.
When we returned from commercial break, Stephanie announced that The New Day would defend the RAW Tag Team Championships tonight! Then she proceeded with the Draft.
Then the Monday Night Messiah made his entrance to the RAW brand for the final time. Rollins said he just wanted to soak it all in because it was the end of an era. While thrilled to be taking his talents to Smackdown, Rollins said he wanted to acknowledge how difficult this must be for the fans of Monday Night RAW.
Rollins said they are losing a lot: a champion, a beast slayer, and someone who is a purveyor of the greater good. Then he said they were losing the greatest locker room leader in RAW history. Rollins then struggled to think of someone who could fill his void.
He brought up the “unfortunate” fact that the Mysterios would be following him to Smackdown before continuing talking about the void he was leaving. That is before Jeff Hardy made his presence known.
Before Hardy could speak, Rollins said he appreciated the enthusiasm but he was trying to find a leader…which wasn’t Hardy. Rollins then asked him to get the hell out of his ring. Hardy pointed out that with Rollins now being a Smackdown superstar, the ring really was Hardy’s.
Rollins said Hardy should be focused on his match with Lars Sullivan on Friday, then wished him luck and left. Before Rollins could get anywhere, AJ Styles entered the picture. While passing Rollins, Styles told him to keep stepping because it never was Monday Night Rollins anyway.
Styles was trying to yell at Hardy, but Rollins came back down to argue about what Styles said to him. Hardy took them both out and then challenged them both to a triple threat match! Then we went to commercial break.
AJ Styles defeated Jeff Hardy and Seth Rollins via Pinfall
With triple threat rules in place, anything goes..even a little help from the returning Elias. The match before Elias’ appearance was a lot of fun as all three men are some of the best in WWE. Lots of action and good moves by all men, but when Elias hit Hardy with his guitar, Styles took advantage and got the victory!
We returned from break for the fourth round of the Draft.
Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke defeated Lana and Natalya via Pinfall (Assisted Senton)
Creative and quick offense by Rose and Brooke were the story in this one. Lana made the mistake of putting her energy on Rose, who was on the apron while Brooke was the legal competitor. This decision was what costed Lana the match.
After the match Nattie sat by Lana looking disappointed. She asked if Lana was really that stupid. Then Nattie said this partnership wasn’t working out for her and she was done. Nattie left the ring while Lana sat in tears.
Backstage cameras showed us The Hurt Business hanging out and chatting. Then Ricochet showed up. Ricochet agreed he may be a glutton for punishment, but wanted one last match. He said he wanted to retire this thing between them. The possibility of Apollo Crews going to Smackdown was hanging in the air and Ricochet wanted to do business.
Ricochet said the match could be against any member of The Hurt Business, but if he wins they leave him alone. If Ricochet loses? Well, he would join The Hurt Business. Cedric Alexander said he would love nothing more.
Back in the ring we got the entrance of Angel Garza and then went to commercial break.
Angel Garza defeated Andrade via Pinfall (Wing Clipper)
A rather short match. While Zelina Vega was watching at commentary, Garza was able to pick up a victory. Vega seemed to feel bad for Andrade, even though she said she was done with both men after the match.
Vega got in the ring to check on Andrade when the lights went. When the lights came back on they were red! Alexa Bliss was in the corner just like The Fiend would be. (Vega had spoke a big badly of Alexa Bliss when she was brought up on commentary) As Vega and Andrade backed up, The Fiend was right behind them! Double Sister Abigail in stereo!
After a commercial we moved on to the next round of the WWE Draft.
The New Day defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode via Pinfall (The Midnight Hour)
A hard fought contest where it looked like we would crown new champions a few times! Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston used their experience as a tag team to their advantage though. Kingston did some impressive work on the outside before getting tagged in, which Roode did not see.
Backstage Elias was interviewed by Charly Caruso on his sudden reappearance. Elias said that while others may have forgiven Jeff Hardy, he did not. He said he wouldn’t forget that Hardy hit him with a car and took him out of action for months. Caruso was quick to point out that it wasn’t proven that Hardy was the cause of the accident and the suspect was still out their and yet to be identified.
Elias said he knew who hit him. Then he promoted his new album that comes out on October 26th. Next week he will celebrate his return to RAW with a concert and promises it will be unforgettable.
The Hurt Business made their entrance and then we went to break.
Before Cedric Alexander has his match with Ricochet, we saw a replay of what happened during MVP’s match with Mustafa Ali last week.
Ricochet defeated Cedric Alexander via DQ
Looks like The Hurt Business have to stop messing with Ricochet. After the referee was knocked into MVP threw a chair into Alexander, only for it to be intercepted by Ricochet. There wasn’t much time so Ricochet hit the mat with the chair, threw the chair to Alexander and fell over in a move that Eddie Guerrero would have been damn proud of.
The Hurt Business was left fuming in the ring as we went to another commercial break.
After break we saw a replay of what happened between Braun Strowman and Keith Lee last week. Then we were told that next week a sanctioned match between the men will go down.
The Final Round of the Draft occurred.
After the Draft ends, Asuka made he entrance to ringside before the battle royal, she would be on commentary for the match.
Then Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler made their entrance. After we went to commercial break.
Back from break, Jax and Baszler were joined in the ring by the rest of the competitors. Jax had a mic and said the battle royal would obviously be won by Baszler, but more likely herself. Jax wanted to save some time and told everyone else to jump over the top rope. A bold strategy, which saw everyone else in the ring attack Jax and Baszler.
Lana won the Battle Royal
Jax was on a roll to begin the match. She eliminated Tamina, Dana Brooke, Mandy Rose right off the bat. When the rest of the competitors jumped her, Baszler helped eliminate her tag team partner! This led to a tantrum by Jax, who cleared the announcer’s table and once again put Lana through it.
During the match we saw McIntyre and Orton battling backstage.
Back to the match, we saw Bianca Belair eliminate Baszler. While Nikki Cross was eliminated after a Women’s Right. With the final four being Lacey Evans, Natalya, and the Riott Squad….or so we thought.
The final two came down to Evans and Nattie. Nattie eliminated Evans and thought she was victorious when Lana shocked the world and won the match!
We ended RAW with McIntyre and Orton entering ringside with their brawl and having to be separated.
