After a Wrestlemania to remember, we go back to the Thunderdome. RAW will feature a Women’s Championship rematch between Asuka and Rhea Ripley.
We began the show with seeing the arrival of WWE Champion Bobby Lashley from earlier in the day. He was stopped in the hallway by Riddle, who challenged him to a match tonight. Lashley wasn’t interested in facing him and said he was just here to celebrate and leave. Riddle kept pushing and Lashley finally gave in.
Bobby Lashley defeated Riddle via Submission (The Hurt Lock)
During Riddle’s entrance Lashley cut him off, throwing him against the barricade. Then he threw Riddle into the ring post before Riddle could get in the ring and the bell rung. Mid match Lashley got out of the ring and threw Riddle’s scooter away! Riddle did not get much offense in this one. His moonsault attempt was stopped by Lashley with The Hurt Lock.
After the match we went backstage, where Rhea Ripley was being interviewed. Ripley said her self confidence led her out to the ring her first night on RAW to challenge Asuka. It was that same confidence that led to her defeating Asuka. She said this is the brutal new order of the women’s division.
Then we took a commercial break.
Returning from break, THE VIKING RAIDERS ARE BACK!
The Viking Raiders defeated Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin via Pinfall (Viking Experience)
Alexander and Ivar began the match. For being out with an injury for seven months, Ivar looked great. Once Benjamin got into the match, the tides started to change. Benjamin and Alexander were able to isolate Erik from getting a tag back to Ivar for a bit. Erik was able to fight back with a huge knee strike! Once Ivar got back into the match it was the beginning of the end for the former Hurt Business members.
Backstage Asuka was interviewed. She said that Ripley brought the fight last night, but tonight it is her turn. Asuka said she is ready for Ripley and will regain her championship.
Then we went to another commercial break.
Back from break we saw some moments from Wrestlemania.
Then Charlotte Flair made her entrance, looking brilliant as always.
Once she got the mic, Flair talked about not being welcome at Wrestlemania. Normally should would be out there with a smile, but she wasn’t at Mania. While she has been on five Manias and this is just one miss in her career, Flair is a genuine superstar and franchise player.
Flair said it is unacceptable she wasn’t on Wrestlemania due to things out of her control. It wasn’t her fault that Asuka needed a tag team partner. Just like it wasn’t her fault that her dad showed up on Legends night acting like a fool. She tried, even challenging Asuka to a championship match.
At Mania, Rhea Ripley (an opportunist as Flair called her) got the championship match and won. Out with the old, in with the new hey? Of course it wasn’t just Ripley who took an opportunity without Flair on Mania, the rest of the locker room did too. Then Flair called Ripley a snake. The saying goes karma is a bitch and Flair is that bitch.
She listed off the women who were on Mania and said none of them compare to her. For the first time since signing her contract, Flair realized she doesn’t steal opportunities. In fact Flair is the opportunity. She will not apologize for being that damn good. No more humble Charlotte.
After a mic drop from Charlotte, Asuka made her entrance. Then another commercial break.
Rhea Ripley versus Asuka ended in a No Contest
The match began with both women just in a brawl. Asuka was put on the top turn buckle by Ripley and then kicked off (she barely missed the steel steps on the way down). Ripley was in control for the good majority of the match, but not everything seemed to be working tonight. An Electric Chair move was attempted a few different times and each seemed like it ended rough. In the end though, Charlotte interfered by attacking both women.
After the bell, Charlotte continued attacking the two women.
Miz and Morrison were walking backstage when they ran into Maryse. Morrison seemed confused as to why she was here, until Miz reminded him that she is their guest on Miz TV tonight.
After commentary hyped up Alexa’s Playground, we took another commercial break.
Returning from break the women’s tag team champions were watching back footage of Mandy Rose falling on the ramp at Wrestlemania. They were having a good laugh. Rose walked up to them and asked if they were done yet. She knew it was an embarrassing moment, but she thought she played it off well.
Jax had sent Baszler away to handle Rose herself. Rose said it is funny when you don’t see things coming and then slapped Jax! Dana Brooke came up from behind and the two were able to take her down.
Then we went to the playground and saw Alexa Bliss. Bliss told us a story to try and help explain her actions at Wrestlemania. Footage of moments in Bliss’s career were shown as she talked. Bliss told us a story about a girl who was once lost, but then got rescued by the darkness. The darkness nurtured her and taught her everything it knew.
Eventually though the darkness went away. Bliss said she wonders if that’s when the little girl realized she didn’t need the darkness at all. How do you think she felt when she realized she could do everything on her own? When it seemed like the darkness was helping her, it may have been holding her back. Why else would she use what she has been taught to destroy the darkness?
Along the way, Bliss unlocked something truly evil. On the swing next to her was a creepy looking doll named Lily. Bliss said their fun was just getting started.
Before going to a commercial break it was time for the entrances of Miz, Maryse, and Morrison.
Returning from break it was time for Miz TV. Miz said that Maryse is on the show because Miz and Mrs returns tonight after RAW. Morrison tried to sell them on starting a new show: MMM, ya know for Miz, Morrison, and Maryse?
After talking Morrison out of that and reminding him he is on tonight’s episode, Miz took credit for Bad Bunny’s Wrestlemania performance. Damian Priest didn’t like Miz trying to take all the credit for Bunny’s performance, so he interrupted. He told Miz how Bunny took the time to train day and night to live his dream. Miz was the one who said Bad Bunny didn’t belong here. Then a challenge for a handicap match was laid out.
The Miz and Morrison defeated Damian Priest via Pinfall
With the help of a distraction by Maryse, Miz was able to roll up Priest for the victory.
Backstage Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler were being interviewed. They were shown footage of what occurred earlier between Jax and Mandy Rose. Jax of course thought it was unnecessary to be shown. Rose got Jax’s attention, but after tonight no one will be talking about Rose or Dana Brooke.
Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose made their entrance before we took a commercial break.
Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler defeated Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke via Countout
While Rose may have been the one slipping at Wrestlemania, Nia Jax slipped twice during this match. The first as she was getting into the ring before the match began. And the second time, when trying to capitalize after tossing Rose back into the ring. Rose and Brooke decided that it wasn’t worth it and walked out on the match.
