ALMOST 200 WWE EMPLOYEES STUCK IN SAUDI ARABIA, SMACKDOWN REWRITE UNAVOIDABLE

WWE has revealed that 175 superstars, production crew and other employees have been stranded in Saudi Arabia following Crown Jewel. This cause of the delay seems to be the plane WWE had chartered. Click here to read the full story.

WWE ANNOUNCE CROSS VS. BAYLEY FOR TONIGHT’S SMACKDOWN

With most of WWE’s main roster either stuck in Saudi Arabia or in the air on the way home, the company is having to scramble for this evening’s episode of SmackDown. While WWE have promised surprises for tonight’s episode, and there are plenty of rumours flying round about NXT stars being flown in, so far there hasn’t been many concrete announcements.

This changed when WWE announced a title match between SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Nikki Cross.

Originally Bayley and Cross were going to be in action, but on opposite sides of a six women tag match. Other stars who were supposed to be involved included Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Dana Brooke, and Carmella. It is widely thought that WWE has bumped the match up the card to make up for other missing champions.

In another video Catherine Kelley promised that WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar would be in attendance, meaning that he has returned from the show in the middle east.

JOEY MERCURY GOES AFTER ROH AND ROH GM GREG GILLELAN

After yesterday’s unexpected news that Joey Mercury had been fired by ROH, Joey has seemingly sought revenge on the company via social media, airing lots of the company’s private business in the clear light of the internet.

Joey has focused on ROH General Manager, Greg Gilleland, posting what appears to be screen shots from a conversation between the pair. In the messages Greg seems to ask why Joey is attacking him, Joey cites an unsafe working environment, lack of security, lack of medical personal, lack of women on the creative team and criticises the quality of the company’s wrestling, calling it the worst looking on or off television in response.

In another message Mercury claims that ROH were not planning to re-sign Shane Taylor. Mercury says that he has informed Taylor, and was highly critical of the company for not informing the family man sooner.

Joey also goes off about the companies handling of head injuries. Apparently it was only Joey who stopped Kelly Klein from flying to South Africa and performing with a concussion. Joey also has released messages purportedly from Greg, telling Joey not to interfere, and that Kelly was fine.

Regardless of the truth of any or all of the points Joey raises, this is publicity ROH could do without at the moment. The wrestling landscape hasn’t been wide and varied as it is now at any point in the past. If they gain the reputation of a promotion who doesn’t look after its talent, they could find it impossible to attract future stars.

Another match which will be happening at Power Struggle as a direct result of this morning’s actions is Will Ospreay Vs. BUSHI for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. During Will and Robbie’s match, BUSHI ran down and spat the black mist in Will’s face. Kanemaru then spat whiskey in Robbie’s face, as Deserado rolled Eagles up into  cradle for the pin.

After the match Will cut a promo, accepting BUSHI’s challenge, and setting the match for Sunday’s Power Struggle.
