WWE Superstar Apollo Crews to wrestle in PCW’s ‘Road To Glory’ 2018 Tournament

A FORMER PCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION IN HIS OWN RIGHT, WWE SUPERSTAR APOLLO CREWS IS TO RETURN TO HIS OLD STOMPING GROUND IN 2018.

At PCW’s Festive Fury iPPV earlier today, PCW Live Wrestling UK owner Steven Fludder announced that they had been given special dispensation for a Raw superstar to wrestle in their ‘Road to Glory’ tournament in February, and that man turned out to be former PCW mainstay and champion Apollo Crews.

This will be an emotional return for Crews, who under his former moniker Uhaa Nation, had arguably his greatest success outside of the US in the regional independent based out of Preston in Lancashire, England. He joins a man who is no stranger to a WWE ring, in Cruiserweight Classic competitor Zack Sabre Jr.

This is a pretty huge deal, as this is the first full-time heavyweight main roster member has been allowed to wrestle for an independent promotion. Of course, many are aware of the various United Kingdom-based wrestlers that ply their trade in both WWE and on the indie scene. Insane Championship Wrestling has had two WWE-contracted performers work on their shows, in NXT superstar Kassius Ohno and cruiserweight Noam Dar, as have PROGRESS Wrestling, who used Jack Gallagher and NXT’s Dakota Kai on their American shows this past summer.
