WWE: WrestleMania 37 – Night 1 Results | April 10th 2021

It is time! WrestleMania 37 is back and so are the fans! Tonight we’ll see Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks main event on the grandest stage of them all.

Vince McMahon welcomed us to the show, surrounded by the WWE locker room. Then….well we had a weather delay due to rain in Tampa Bay.

Backstage we got interviews with Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, The Miz, and John Morrison. Kevin Owens also gave a promo about his long history with Sami Zayn and gave a warning to Logan Paul about getting involved in their match tomorrow.

After WWE Officials were given the all clear, Wrestlemania began!

WrestleMania 37: Bobby Lashley defeated Drew McIntyre via Referee Stoppage (The Hurt Lock) to retain the WWE Championship

The two men began the match by getting tied up in a collar and elbow hold. Then the action really began with Lashley taking control of the match. McIntyre eventually sent Lashley to the outside, but when he tried to capitalize Lashley sent him into the barricade. Lashley really brought the fight to McIntyre and it took a bit for the Scottish Warrior to get going.

McIntyre at one point had the champion done after THREE Future Shock DDTs. But that was not enough to put The All Mighty one away and regain his championship. When McIntyre did have the opportunity to hit Lashley with the Claymore Kick, MVP yelled something and distracted him. This would be the downfall for McIntyre as Lashley put him in The Hurt Lock.

After the match we saw Bayley try to get Titus O’Neil and Hulk Hogan to allow her to help them with hosting the show.

WrestleMania 37: Natalya and Tamina defeated The Riott Squad, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, Billie Kay, Carmella, Naomi, and Lana in Tag Team Turmoil

We began the match with Carmella, Billie Kay, Lana, and Naomi. Lana and Naomi utilized quick tags, but the newly formed team of Mella and Billie outsmarted them. The referee didn’t realize that Mella was using her feet to add more pressure to Billie’s pin on Lana.

The Riott Squad were the next team to enter the Tag Team Turmoil. Carmella once again tried to help Billie secure the pin after a sunset flip, but the referee caught her. This let the Riott Squad make a tag and Ruby Riott was able to jump off the top rope, hitting a Senton on Billie Kay. After the match Carmella was angry and took out Ruby with a superkick.

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke entered the match next. Brooke tried to take advantage of the fact that the Riott Squad were down and out, but it didn’t work. Brooke and Rose tried to use their strength and power to get the victory, but Liv Morgan was able to reverse a pin attempt by Brooke to win the match.

Tamina and Natalya were the final team to enter the match. The Riott Squad gave it a valiant effort, but could not find a way to win. Tamina and Nattie won with a Superfly Splash. They now will face Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the Women’s Tag Team Championships tomorrow night.

WrestleMania 37: Cesaro defeated Seth Rollins via Pinfall (Neutralizer)

Cesaro hit Rollins with an uppercut right out of the gate. He tried to go for the swing early, but Rollins was able to get to the ropes. Cesaro tried to lock in the swing a few times, but Rollins was able to evade. The beginning of the match was all Cesaro until Rollins was able to hit the Buckle Bomb.

Later in the match when Cesaro tried to go to the top rope, Rollins stopped him and turned it into a suplex/Falcon Arrow combo. Finally after countering the Curb Stomp, Cesaro was able to lock in the Swing! We got 10 rotations before Cesaro tried to lock in the Sharp Shooter.

Cesaro was also able to counter the Curb Stomp into an uppercut and then got Rollins in the UFO. After another twenty plus swings and a Neutralizer, Cesaro was able to get his first singles win at Wrestlemania.

WrestleMania 37: Omos and AJ Styles defeated The New Day via Pinfall

After Big E introduced Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to the ring, the action got under way. Kofi and Woods played the match smart at first. When it looked like Omos was going to be the one to start the match, they got Styles to get in the ring. After getting Styles in the match, The New Day looked to isolate him from Omos and cut the ring in half. It worked for awhile, but they were unable to put Styles away. Styles was able to tag Omos in and that was really the end for The New Day.

WrestleMania 37: Braun Strowman defeated Shane McMahon via Pinfall (Running Powerslam)

Shane-O tried to be very smart about this match and for a while he was. With the help of Elias and Jaxson Ryker, Shane prevented The Monster Among Men from entering the steel cage. Elias and Ryker hit Strowman with steel chairs, which eventually Shane took one and continued the act in the ring. A chair was not the only weapon Shane introduced to the match, a bag hanging in one of the cage’s corners held a tool box!

Although Shane thought he had the match won, he made the mistake of putting his hand through the cage to wave goodbye to Strowman. Strowman took hold of Shane’s hand, preventing him from being able to fall to the floor, and destroyed the side of the cage to bring him back in. Then Strowman tossed Shane back into the ring off the top of the cage.

WrestleMania 37: Bad Bunny and Damian Priest defeated Miz and Morrison via Pinfall

Bad Bunny did that!! Miz and Morrison underestimated Bunny big time. Damian Priest wanted to begin the match, but Miz kept jarring at Bad Bunny to get in the match. Bunny took the bait, but he really was impressive. He pulled off a Tornado DDT from the top rope and a Canadian Destroyer (or a Bunny Destroyer as Cole called it) on the outside to Morrison! I highly suggest watching this match, Bunny really put the work in and put on an impressive performance.

WrestleMania 37: Bianca Belair defeated Sasha Banks via Pinfall (KOD)

SHE HAS DONE IT! Under the brightest lights, Belair was able to prove why she is the EST of WWE. Banks and Belair put on a hell of a performance. After both women took in their Mania moment with the crowd, they went right after each other.

Banks sent Belair to the outside after a baseball slide. She then told the referee to start counting, but went for a suicide dive. While Banks hit Belair with the dive, Belair rolled through and CARRIED, Banks back into the ring. Throughout the match, Banks continually used Belair’s braid to her advantage.

Belair went for the 450 splash, but Banks got her knees up in time. Honestly the match was fast paced and filled with a bunch of action. Banks put it all on the line, but in the end the EST used her power and strength to get her Mania moment.

We ended the show with Bianca Belair celebrating in the ring as fireworks went out around Raymond James Stadium.
