We’re Back! WrestleMania 37 Night Two! Tonight we’ll see Edge Vs. Roman Reigns Vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Universal Championship in the Main Event on the grandest stage of them all.
After America the Beautiful was sung by Ashland Craft, the show was ready to get underway!
Titus O’Neil and Hulk Hogan once again welcomed us to the show, this time dressed as pirates, and got us hyped for the seven matches to come.
As we found out during the preshow, our first match of the night is Randy Orton versus The Fiend. Orton made his entrance and then we went to a video package showcasing the past history between the two men.
After the video, Alexa Bliss made her entrance and walked down the ramp to a very large jack in the box. Upon turning the box, The Fiend appeared! Peep the Brodie Lee/Jon Huber tribute by Bray Wyatt on this entrance, it was perfect.
Randy Orton defeated The Fiend via Pinfall (RKO)
I honestly am lost as to what happened in this match. Towards the end of the match, the box opened up again and Bliss appeared. This Bliss was not the Bliss who came out to ringside. Instead she was dressed in all black, hand reaching out to The Fiend, and some sort of black substance dripping down her face. Her presence actually served as a distraction to The Fiend.
After the match, the lights went out. When they came back up, Bliss and The Fiend were gone.
Then Micheal Cole and Corey Graves took us back to last night showing us the Tag Team Turmoil match.
Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax defeated Natalya and Tamina via Referee Stoppage (Kirifuda Clutch)
Nattie and Shayna began the match. In the beginning Nattie and Tamina were able to utilize some pretty decent tag team work to seem like they had a good chance at winning the match. At one point we got Tamina and Nia Jax going at it, which is exactly what Jax wanted. Tamina and Nia went right for each other, but Nia took the advantage. What really seemed to mess with Nattie and Tamina, was Nia slamming Tamina on the outside. This left Nattie all on her own for a good portion of the match.
While Tamina was left on the outside, Nattie tried her best to keep her team in it, but it was tough. Even though Nattie and Tamina gave it their all, in the end Shayna caught Nattie in the Kirifuda Clutch and that was that.
Before our next match we got to see what has been going on with Sami Zayn’s conspiracy theory lately and how we got to the match with Kevin Owens.
Sami Zayn then made his entrance and introduced Logan Paul.
Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn via Pinfall (Stunner)
The action began real quick on the part of KO. A pop up powerbomb right off the bat. Zayn though was able to find a way to fight back and hit a brainbuster on the apron! The referee began to make the count, Zayn was able to get back in the ring but KO took til the count of eight.
This match was just fun to watch. Each man got in their signature moves and more. We saw Zayn hit multiple Blue Thunder Bombs, but it just wasn’t enough to get the three count. Zayn, when he finally hit KO with the Helluva Kick decided to go for a second which ended with KO hitting him with a superkick. This led to the Stunner!
After the match, as KO was celebrating his victory, Logan Paul got in the ring to check on Zayn. Once he made sure Zayn was okay, he went to shake KO’s hand…this did not go over well with Zayn.
Paul wound up pushing Zayn out of the ring. KO seemed rather confused with all that was going on, but let Paul raise his hand in victory. Afterwards, KO looked around and laughed. Then he went to shake Paul’s hand, but instead STUNNER!!
Backstage we saw The Great Khali and Ranjin Singh when Riddle strolled up on his scooter. Riddle asked to see Khali’s Hall of Fame ring and then pitched him an idea about a clothing store for giants…yes it happened. Then RVD entered the picture and tried to help Riddle pitch Khali ideas.
Sheamus defeated Riddle via Pinfall to become the New United States Champion
Sheamus was all business right from the beginning. Even though Sheamus tried to gain control of the match, Riddle was able to find a way to fight back. They really had a good back and forth going for a bit. Sheamus tried for a White Noise from the top rope, but did eventually slip and wound up hitting the move from regular ring position. Riddle then went for a moonsault off the ropes and it didn’t end well for him. Sheamus caught him mid air with a Brogue Kick! ONE TWO THREE! Sheamus wins and left Riddle a bit of a bloody mess.
After the match we saw a promo video between Triple H and Bad Bunny. Triple H thanked Bunny for his work at Mania and then handed him a briefcase of sorts, telling him he could get back to what he does. In the case was a microphone. Then we found out Bad Bunny is heading back out on tour in 2022, with tickets on sale April 16th.
A video hyping up the Intercontinental Championship match was then played.
Wale was then at the top of the entrance ramp to play Big E’s entrance music live!
Apollo Crews defeated Big E via Pinfall to become the New Intercontinental Champion
Immediately kendo sticks were brought into the match by both men. They went back and forth throwing kendo shots until Big E found an advantage. Big E was able to hit Crews with the suicide dive, when Crews was on the apron. The steel steps once again came into play with these two, this time Crews got the worst end of it. Uranage on the steps by Big E. It truly looked like Big E was going to be able to retain his championship, until a certain giant appeared. Daba Kato/Babatunde, or whatever his name will be now is the reason for this outcome.
After the match we saw highlights from Night 1 of Wrestlemania.
Then we saw highlights from the 2021 WWE Hall of Fame class. That then led to us honoring the class of 2021 at the top of the entrance ramp.
After seeing the Class of 2021, we saw a video highlighting Asuka and Rhea Ripley.
Ash Costello played Rhea Ripley to the ring before her RAW Women’s Championship opportunity.
Rhea Ripley defeated Asuka via Pinfall (Riptide)
Asuka began the match off taking the action right to Ripley with kicks ending up in the corner. The thing that stands out to me in this match is Asuka eventually hitting Ripley with a DDT off the apron to the floor! It was wild and unexpected. Unfortunately for Asuka the moves she hit just didn’t seem to be enough. Ripley was able to fight back and put Asuka in some situations that really hurt the champion. A quick Riptide ended the match.
After the match, Titus O’Neil and Hulk Hogan thanked the WWE Universe for watching Wrestlemania the past two nights. Then Bayley interrupted. Bayley said they forgot to thank her for her carrying the hosting job. She then called for her pyro to go off!
Bayley tried to continue her speech about being the true host of Wrestlemania, but The Bella Twins interrupted! Bayley tried to shut them down immediately, but that didn’t work out in her favor. A huge right from Nikki. Then a knee to the face from Brie. And the new Hall of Famers threw Bayley down the entrance ramp.
Then it was time for highlight for the Triple Threat Universal Championship match.
Roman Reigns defeated Edge and Daniel Bryan via Pinfall (He pinned both men)
Anything goes in a triple threat and we certainly saw that tonight. Reigns went right for Bryan, but of course Edge went right at the champion. This match really featured everything a triple threat could expect to have: chairs, tables, and interference by Jey Uso (because Tribal Chief). This was always going to be a brawl and a true test for all involved.
Edge was able to take Jey Uso out, especially after Uso got himself involved by kicking Edge and Bryan. With the steel steps in play, Edge took Uso out with a DDT on the steps. This move also seemed to hurt Edge, but he bounced back pretty quick. Please enjoy the spears in this match. Honestly Edge had some of the best Spears I’ve seen from him.
We had chairs involved, one of which broke and left a piece chilling in the ring. This piece eventually was used by Edge in a cross face situation on Reigns. Then Bryan got back in the ring and tried to put Reigns in the Yes Lock, at the same time Edge had his submission in. Chaos! Of course Jey Uso wound up rejoining the party.
Edge once again took care of him. But in the end, even though Edge hit a Con-Chair-To on Bryan..Reigns was able to take advantage with Uso’s help. We did see Edge’s aggression come out, Bryan be able to pull off some really fun moves, but in the end Reigns found a way to walk out with his championship.
