WWE: WrestleMania 38 – Night 2 Results | April 3, 2022

WrestleMania 38 – Night 2 | WWE Raw Tag Team Championship :
RK-Bro ( Randy Orton and Riddle) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis)

Entertaining combat to quick off WrestleMania 38 – Night 2, between three good teams. However, the house only truly went down with the entry of Randy Orton, who sent the crowd into a frenzy as he delivered some of his top punches. Alpha Academy still spoiled the RK-Bro’s moment, but from there it was always on the rise, with flashy spots after flashy spots, as if it were a Ladder match. After Riddle surprised Montez Ford with a Springboard RKO of sorts, Orton performed the mid-air RKO on Chad Gable to give his team the victory.

Winners: RK-Bro ( Randy Orton and Riddle)
Rating: 8/10

WrestleMania 38 – Night 2 | Bobby Lashley vs. Omos

Amazing how tiny Bobby Lashley looks when compared to Omos. Aesthetically it may not have been a very beautiful match, but it was a good match between David and Goliath, with the irresistible strength of Bobby Lashley giving everything to take down the immovable Omos. After a Suplex, a Spear from the side and another from the front, Lashley achieved a resounding victory, reinforced his babyface status and put an end to Omos’ streak.

Winner: Bobby Lashley
Rating: 6.5/10

WrestleMania 38 – Night 2 | Anything Goes Match:
Johnny Knoxville vs. Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn started the match at full throttle, with a Helluva Kick and successive taunts to the Jackass squad . Johnny Knoxville took some objects into the fight, namely a tray, a crutch and a trash can, but he felt the effects of all of them on his skin.
Knoxville still used two trash can lids to wreak some havoc on Zayn but suffered an Exploder Suplex against a table-mounted in one of the corners. However, he was kicked out in the ensuing settlement.

However, part of the Jackass cast appeared on the scene to help Knoxville, who used some of his tricks and some objects never seen before in a WWE ring to take down Zayn.
Meanwhile, Knoxville introduced a taser into combat, causing Zayn to be electrocuted precisely where it could hurt the most before throwing him onto a table littered with mousetraps.

After hitting Zayn a second time with the taser and putting the opponent in a mousetrap, Knoxville achieved victory in a fight that, at times, made me laugh. It’s a shame that a wrestler of Zayn ‘s quality is used for these purposes, but it was funny.
As a wrestling match, it was weak. But if we look at what happened from the perspective of a comic segment, it was very well done.

Winner: Johnny Knoxville

WrestleMania 38 – Night 2 | WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship :
Queen Zelina and Carmella (c) vs. Sasha Banks and Naomi vs. Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan vs. Natalya and Shayna Baszler

Combat something confusing, but that allowed the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to appear on a big stage. After all, it has been the most abused title on the main roster – even taking into account the abusive mistreatment that the Intercontinental Championship has been subjected to. With quality and intensity ever-increasing, the feud became entertaining, with Sasha Banks and Naomi being crowned champions after a double team in Carmella.

Winners: Sasha Banks and Naomi (new champions)
Rating: 6.5/10

WrestleMania 38 – Night 2 | Edge vs. AJ Styles

I know that we are talking about two 40-year-olds who are striving towards their 50s, but I confess that I expected a fight with a higher pace. Edge, with this new persona, in terms of the ring, reminds him of the wrestler that Chris Jericho became in mid-2008: a heel doing everything to get heat, not a cool heel who still hopes that part of the fans will support him. AJ Styles applied the Springboard 450 Splash and the Styles Clash, but neither trick gave him the win. At one point, Styles was getting ready to apply a Phenomenal Forearm, but he ran into Damian Priest. He lunged for the punch but was eventually intersected by an Edge Spear in mid-air.

Winner: Edge
Rating: 7/10

The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) vs. Sheamus and Ridge Holland

Sheamus and Ridge Holland wasted no time attacking The New Day while they were still making their way into the ring. In a quick match, Ridge Holland gave his team the victory after a Northern Grit.

Winners: Sheamus and Ridge Holland

WrestleMania 38 – Night 2 | Pat McAfee vs. Austin Theory

Combat that exceeded expectations, because they were quite low. Pat McAfee surprised fans with his athleticism and Austin Theory with a roll-up.
Winner: Pat McAfee
Rating: 4.5/10

Pat McAfee vs. Vince McMahon

Combat that was not on the program and that was a bad moment of entertainment.
Winner: Vince McMahon
Rating: 0/10

WrestleMania 38 – Night 2 | Main Event
WWE Championship and WWE Universal Championship
Brock Lesnar (WWE Champion) vs. Roman Reigns (Universal Champion)

Brock Lesnar entered the match more confident than Roman Reigns, which resulted in an initial moment dominated by the WWE Champion. However, when Lesnar ran into Paul Heyman, he was distracted and was hit by a Spear from Reigns against the protective barrier. On returning to the ring, he suffered another Spear but was kicked out in the ensuing settlement.

What followed was more of the same than had been seen between the two: lots of German Suplexes and Superman Punches and a few F- 5s to fill a quarter of an hour. This time there was a low blow from Reigns and a belt through the middle hitting Lesnar’s face, which wasn’t exactly a novelty either. The lack of innovation that we witnessed did not live up to what is expected of a WrestleMania main event, we were simply given rice and beans once again. And it even gave the feeling that Roman Reigns ‘ victorious settlement, after a Spear, came too soon.

Winner: Roman Reigns (New Unified Champion)
Rating: 6/10
